I watched season one, loved it. Tried to watch season two, and realized it had told it's story already. Some stories were meant to end.

Well, I don't know what the show was like, but I'll watch a movie about foot warts on other planets.

You're thinking of Lucy Saturn.  Veronica Mars is the one with that fat scientologist chick running an underwear catalog.

I hope it's better than the Season 4 concept pilot they did.

Google it, it's on youtube I think

Joss better be paying attention.

I simply can't dig that show, no matter how much I try. Plus Kristen Bell reminds me of a lot of annoying women I have known.

Fools and their money, blah blah blah....

Since they filmed the original in my neighborhood maybe I might see some Kristen Bell running around.

Joss can afford to finance his own movies. Much Ado About Nothing will be in theatres soon.

I admit I know nothing about this show and have never watched it, but I just watched the first video I saw after youtubing it (this video) and it farking sucked. Not funny at all and it seems like bad CW garbage. What other reason is there to watch it besides Kristen Bell being hot?

Went down the list and saw that the investors get... NOTHING. If I'm dropping ten large on a film I'd expect to see some money headed back my way.

I wasn't trolling in my last comment. I'd actually like to know why fans like this show. I don't get it.

Nothing? If they're investors you'd think they'd get their share of the profits, or at least a free DVD.

Having checked the Kickstarter page they do get stuff, including a DVD, at various price points. All the top ones are now gone.

You aren't going to get it from watching a YouTube video.  Rent/buy/download it and start from Season 1, Show 1.  The writing was excellent, the plots were complex, the acting was uniformly terrific and the characters acted like real people.  Though it has funny parts (in particular Bell's quick wit), it's not a comedy - in fact much of it is rather dark drama.  In the last season, Veronica and her boyfriend have a falling out, and it was played so damn real it transported me back to the worst parts of high school.  Good stuff.  Go in expecting good drama with key emotional payoffs, and you'll be satisfied.  If you're looking for action or comedy, you may not find what you're looking for here.

And it's far more mature and realistic than the typical CW fare.  I imagine that's a big part of why it ultimately failed commercially - it was too smart for that audience.

It's probably appreciated more by fans that were in a similar demographic to CW's audience when they first watched the show. I really wanted to like it but gave up.

I heard about this early today, and had the Kickstarter page up in a tab all day long. It was downright freaky to switch back to that tab after an hour and see a $200k to $300k jump. Even more gob-smacking to watch it refresh live, and go up by $1000 plus with every autorefresh.

This Kickstarter smashed the record (by several hours) for fastest million and fastest 2 million.

Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell were tweeting about it throughout the day too. At one point Thomas tweeted "Stretch goal-$3M or Logan doesnt survive the movie!"

Was fun to watch this happen live.

It probably needs more than 5 million to not look like something that is only worthy of putting on YouTube. Paying money means that the boring annoying things get done, not just the fun things that people want to do.

I'm sure it'll be nothing short of a Herculean task to find a gap in that 13-episodes-a-year shooting schedule.

Joss aught to have enough money pretty damn soon.  A series would be problematic after all this time, but a movie or two might be doable, and a decent animated series should be viable for another couple decades.

I only see circumstantial evidence that she might be wearing panties, though it could be an oddly-placed drawstring

It's a noir detective series with some comedic elements, and you probably need the context for the jokes to make sense a lot of the time. It's an amazing show.
