I hope it's better than the Season 4 concept pilot they did.

I simply can't dig that show, no matter how much I try. Plus Kristen Bell reminds me of a lot of annoying women I have known.

You aren't going to get it from watching a YouTube video.  Rent/buy/download it and start from Season 1, Show 1.  The writing was excellent, the plots were complex, the acting was uniformly terrific and the characters acted like real people.  Though it has funny parts (in particular Bell's quick wit), it's not a comedy - in fact much of it is rather dark drama.  In the last season, Veronica and her boyfriend have a falling out, and it was played so damn real it transported me back to the worst parts of high school.  Good stuff.  Go in expecting good drama with key emotional payoffs, and you'll be satisfied.  If you're looking for action or comedy, you may not find what you're looking for here.

And it's far more mature and realistic than the typical CW fare.  I imagine that's a big part of why it ultimately failed commercially - it was too smart for that audience.

It's probably appreciated more by fans that were in a similar demographic to CW's audience when they first watched the show. I really wanted to like it but gave up.

I heard about this early today, and had the Kickstarter page up in a tab all day long. It was downright freaky to switch back to that tab after an hour and see a $200k to $300k jump. Even more gob-smacking to watch it refresh live, and go up by $1000 plus with every autorefresh.

This Kickstarter smashed the record (by several hours) for fastest million and fastest 2 million.

Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell were tweeting about it throughout the day too. At one point Thomas tweeted "Stretch goal-$3M or Logan doesnt survive the movie!"

Was fun to watch this happen live.

It probably needs more than 5 million to not look like something that is only worthy of putting on YouTube. Paying money means that the boring annoying things get done, not just the fun things that people want to do.

Joss aught to have enough money pretty damn soon.  A series would be problematic after all this time, but a movie or two might be doable, and a decent animated series should be viable for another couple decades.

It's a noir detective series with some comedic elements, and you probably need the context for the jokes to make sense a lot of the time. It's an amazing show.

No.  Folks claiming there's no money, are folks who don't have disposable income.  It's great if you do.  It's sh*tty if you don't.  When things are sh*tty but people are telling you it's all sunshine and rainbows ...... that's worse.

Yeah, they did a real shiatty job promoting it.  It only made it to $110k.  It was a live action movie with the voice actor of Ruckus playing him in real life.  The thing is he actually LOOKED like Ruckus.  I really hope it is able to get some other funding because it was a great idea.

For those deciding whether or not to watch it, it's a fun mystery show that is not a procedural and is wildly smarter than most shows set in a high school or college.

But...   How quickly do you burn out on worldy-wise kids?  This girl isn't Buffy or Willow smart, she's Author Insert smart.  She's not as instant, rapid-fire about it as Sherlock on Elementary but it's damn close.

It's a good show, and if they ever marathon it on some day when the house needs cleaning or I'm home with the flu I'll probably re-watch it. But I'm not too excited about a movie and other than the fact it'd be nice if they went out on their own terms, I'm okay with how long it lasted.
