Seems like a non-issue. Maybe the "witnesses" should stop hassling the poor guy. At least he made an effort to fix the problem.

Yeah, I was surprised how nice it looked after.  Headline made me think he tried to use paint stripper on it or something.

Well, I suppose this is one reason it's called the "Daily Fail," a story about absolutely nothing. They accidentally made a mess, but took responsibility and cleaned it up. All while not causing any damage to any of the vehicles. Now if they guy had broken a window, or managed to scrape paint off one of the cars while trying to clean it, then yeah, maybe a story to read, but this...

Move along people, just the Daily Fail trying to make a story out of nothing.

Unless they scratched the paint, then who gives a crap.

Hose it down with water and leave a note saying that we spilled paint on your car but cleaned it off.

// gotta get that shiat off before it dries

Should he have made no attempt to clean it up? Then we'd be having an article about careless painters who don't care about other people's property.

Would they still call it a "tin" if it was Dutch Boy?  I haven't seen a metal paint can in a while, they have all started going plastic.  I do like Dutch Boy's paint can the best, screw on lid that is easy to open.  Also makes for a good hardware storage.

Good thing those painters weren't using oil based.

YOU:  "Uh... what?"

I have never even heard a metal paint can called a tin before.  A tin of cookies?  A tin of snuff?  Yeah.

how is getting a free car wash a news story now?

Building grade acrylic paint fresh and wet on a sports car level urethane clearcoat.  Theres alot of ways to get that off even involving low grade solvents that wouldnt even lightly annoy that clearcoat.  Worker did a good job getting it off with just water since he got on it fast enough.  Thank god he didnt use paint thinner.

People should leave him the fark alone for giving the guy a free car wash.

Honestly, good chance of cleaning it off even if it was left on to completely dry.

But good on the worker for owning up to his mistake and cleaning it up promptly.

The problem is that his brushing probably created all sorts of fine scratches in the paint. With a dark color the car's paint is still damaged. It should have just been hosed down with water.  That said such fine scratches do buff out.

Fantastic article.  "I've written three sentences, I will just finish out my length quota by quoting the company website of the guy who spilled the paint"

Someone actually maned up and took responsibility for their mistake... the fact that this is so rare today that it makes the news is sad.
