From the comment section in TFA:

I knew it wasn't Jeff Gordon because the driver turned the steering wheel both ways.

I laughed a little at that one.

well, I knew it wasn't Jeff Gordon because the driver's side didn't have a booster seat

factoryconnection: That, for whatever reason they couldn't even let Jeff Gordon tear ass around in a Camaro is the weakest of sauce. Maybe I'm just spoiled by seeing the Stig and all sorts of other racing drivers unafraid to do crazy, stupidly awesome crap in road cars on Top Gear (even the US has Tanner doing all manner of burnouts and spins). I guess what I really want to say is why does it have to be stupid fake?

Jeff Gordon doesn't race in stock cars.  He doesn't race anything even close to stock cars.  The traction, balance, shifting action, etc. are all different.  And when he's behind the wheel of whatever the hell he drives on public roads, he's bound by the same traffic laws as the rest of us (tho I wouldn't be shocked if redneck cops gave him a free pass).  Oh, the fundamental concepts are the same, but it'd be like Usain Bolt playing a down in the NFL as wide receiver -- sounds awesome in theory, and sure the talent's there, but in reality there's a lot of missing experience to catch up on.  It would take days of practice to get him up to speed, but why would he bother?  It's just an ad.  For what they wanted -- just his face on the screen selling shiat -- he was probably in and out of the studio in half a day.

He's only in there because he's a celebrity.  There are professional stunt drivers that, because of their experience, can annihilate Jeff Gordon's skills in a stock car -- and their hours are cheaper.

It was obviously fake, but it was still fun to watch. I knew it wasn't Jeff Gordon because the driver turned the steering wheel both ways.

Ok, which one of you posted that
