Slaughter lambs and paint the blood over the entrances to their house?

Better start hiding your firstborn children.

Still not care because they haven't cared what someone in Rome was doing since 76AD.

2013-03-13 11:55:14 AM
What did they do before he left, and still had nothing to do with them.

2013-03-13 11:55:41 AM
Well, they could catch them and fry them up.  Some locusts are kosher, according to Google.

Probably blame and then slaughter thousands of Palestinians.

Like any other Wednesday, basically.

Toast them up and eat them, apparently.

More like since around 1700 AD, actually.

While nobody expects it, I was concentrating more on the Jews in the Holy Land, but you are correct.

Heh, I just wrote a lesson about Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum," which takes place during the Inquisition, and could not stop humming the Inquisition song.

Seems these qualify from what I can see from the pictures:  'All flying insects that creep on  all fours  shall be an abomination to you.Yet these you may eat of every flying insect that creeps on  all fours: those which have jointed legs above their feet with which to leap on the earth. These you may eat: the locust after its kind, the destroying locust after its kind, the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. But all  other flying insects which have four feet  shall be an abomination to you. (Leviticus 11:20-23)

It seems it's actually tradition, not Moses (unless I have suddenly lost the ability to read), that there are only 4 specific kinds of locust which are kosher. As you can see above, Moses says in the Torah that so long as the locust has jointed legs above their feet which which they can jump/leap upon the earth, they're fit to eat according to God. The Talmud places additional restrictions that God never placed on the law, and the rabbis say (halacha) it's only kosher if the prevailing tradition in the region make it kosher. Basically, the Talmud and halacha are where a bunch of men got together and decided they knew better than God what God meant...farking ignore those dudes and chow down if you're so inclined, at least until a great wind from the west comes sweeping through. :D

some rabbinic opinions.

The specific genus (or species) is named in Leviticus, but many authorities can't or won't tie it to a modern one. Ergo, in most strains of Orthodoxy, all locusts are a no-go (I've heard that it's largely Sephardic-North African strains that have a tradition that it's *that* one, but no hard evidence).

// no idea how many Conservative/Reform Jews go around eating locusts anyway
// or Orthodox ones, for that matter

(March 03, 2013) Egypt struck by a plague of locusts ahead of Passover. This is not a repeat of 1446 BC

(March 08, 2013) Plague of locusts has attacked Israel, leaving observant Jews asking themselves if they have offended God, are they kosher. The Torah and Leviticus are divided, rabbis disagree, but foodees say if they are sauteed and honey spiced, they are delicious

I'm assuming kill a Palestinian or two as an offering?
