- Tara Driscoll, 35, a teacher at Law, Government and Community Service High School in Queens, engaged in sexual activity with multiple male students and sent a slew of racy text message

So they ran a train on her then?

Sperm show increasing levels of mutations as a male ages. It's a basic issue of the number of cell divisions the progenitor cells undergo prior to mitosis to create the little swimmers. The biology teach is showing she knows her stuff and is going for the highest quality material available to her.

I fell for that one when I was young and impressionable with an older woman. Luckily, came out of it quickly without issue.  Looked her up a few years later and she had a kid about 11 months after we broke up.  Dodged a bullet.

I know on FARK we're supposed to hate any color movie not filmed in some language other than English and that we're supposed to hate stupid movies staring Adam Sandler, but I actually thought this was pretty funny. STUPID, but lots of laugh out loud moments.

I know, right?  It's almost as if teachers shouldn't have sex with their students.  What is this world coming to?

"The disturbing romance..."

What's disturbing about this?  I don't understand.  We treat sex like it is evil.  We panic over adults having sex with kids now, which seems reasonable; but go back a decade and a half, I remember growing up in a world where the panic was teenagers (16-17) might be having sex.  This evolved into teenagers (13-14) might be having sex.  You know, with each other.  There was also this massive thing about not letting anyone under 18 see nudity on TV, because boobs will destroy a 17 year old.

So the "adults having sex with kids" thing was always a thing, but it wasn't a talk-about-it-every-farking-day thing.  It was a "This is a thing that shouldn't happen, we know it shouldn't happen, it isn't worth mentioning except once or twice to inform people that it shouldn't happen" thing.  But we went from "High school kids might be trying to have sex with each other!" to "Middle school kids might be trying to have sex with each other!" to "Oh god everybody panic there are pedophiles everywhere trying to have sex with children I saw it in the news every day this year!" to...

to...

... this "disturbing [sexual] relationship" between two consenting adults.

I mean, the boy is 18.  They had sex on his 18th birthday for the first time.  He's his own legal guardian, he's an adult.  She's an adult. She's not banging a 12 year old.

What's so damn disturbing now?!

The disturbing romance

What exactly is so disturbing about two consenting adults having sex? Aside from the abuse of power issue stemming from it being a teacher/student relationship, which is really only as "disturbing" as any other business issue, that's called "perfectly normal adult behavior".

I also love how them having sex multiple times a week is called a "sex-fest" and "lewd behavior" from a "kinky teacher" while at the same time the article has no problem making a big fuss about specific details like her desire to not use condoms.

What a farking stupid article... superprude deluxe Corrine Lestch there is getting all worked up over the actions of the teacher that she then chooses to write about in titillating detail.

No wonder Americans are so piss-poor informed about everything when this sort of garbage is what passes for informational media.

Despite all our high ambitions, humans are basically herd animals. We don't like it when one of the flock is out of sync.

WTF? No, abuse of power to secure sex is pretty freaking disturbing. That's not normal adult behavior.

There is no allegation in that article that she engaged in coercion of any kind. There is no indication the relationship was anything but purely consensual. Remove the technically improper relationship and that entire article, sans the prudish hand-wringing, boils down to:

"Two adults had sex and one of them got pregnant."

Add the technically improper relationship back in and you get one more sentence:

"It created a personnel issue".

It's a farking stupid article written for farking stupid busybodies who need more to do with their farking spare time.

I have to say, I'm speechless. By the same token, I'm pretty sure that makes Jefferson's relationship with Sally Hemings consensual as well.

Not if he can prove coercion in court. Then it's all on her.
And jeebus, Lady is crazy.
Also, HOW IN THE WORLD did she get him to go to her appointments with her(absent much?), and how did the school not find out/fire her until she gave birth to baby?

From what point of view is 5 times a week a 'Sex Fest'?
Perhaps the reporter is married, or asexual?

Strange but the article doesn't seem to mention that it was her student.

Depends on how long each session was.

If a woman tells you that you don't need a condom, then you need to double wrap that thing and never give her your real phone number.

Yeah, I wonder what she'd label my sometimes-twice-but-at-least-once-daily routine with my fiancé, and we've been at it for more than three years now. But I'm into some kink, so she'd probably find something far more salacious to write about.

/yes, I know getting married will ruin it, been there done that
