Really?

I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here. "I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs." "I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking." "Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!" "Shut up! Go back to bed, America. Your government is in control. Here's  Love Connection. Watch this and get fat and stupid. By the way, keep drinking beer, you farking morons."

How are they going to accomplish that, when most of them have benefits NOW? Do you have any idea how many MediCal recipients I process claims for all the time? Lots without social security numbers and listing the state as their source of income? Besides, I thought obamacare was so that EVERYONE could have healthcare.

Keep in mind, Obama wants to legalize 11 million illegals all at once. Massive amount of free votes, incredible burden on government.

We have a choice. Small pains now for a bright future, or free stuff for everyone now, with a guaranteed collapse later. CBO even agrees. Liberals want free stuff, and who cares about our kids! Which is funny, considering how much they biatch about the evil Baby Boomers.

Unlike Benghazi, however, this is going to stick. They have all the propaganda outlets lined up and on message for this new bullsh*t.

When my son is ready for college, national debt will be around 40 - 45 trillion dollars. I somehow doubt the economy is going to almost triple in size by then.

Really sucks for today's kids.

But liberals say we just increase taxes..... even though raising all taxes 50% won't even keep pace in a couple decades. The entire tax revenue will just go for a couple entitlement programs. But liberals don't care. Free stuff.

There is nothing to fix. The DOW is setting new record highs, corporate profits are at all-time highs, and the last few years have shown impressive growth in the income and wealth of the top 1%. The economy is functioning exactly the way they want it to.

Scalia or Kennedy may need to be replaced soon. Obama gets the courts, a racist, sexist bunch of liberal toads deciding on who gets rights. Rights start going bye bye one by one. Things keep getting bad in the economy, and let's face it, Obama is awesome at one thing, he is an awesome politician. He will blame everything on Republicans. His growing follower base will eat it up. His media will post it everywhere. Dumb kids don't know any better and have increasingly liberal parents who make babies as fast as they can, without being able to afford it, so need government care. Rinse, repeat.

Bad. Very bad.

I would love, just once, to see an honest proposal by Democrats about how to tackle the very real debt crisis, and the economic pit we are in. When all Obama says is Republicans want to give tax breaks to the rich (well, we actually just raised their taxes, and they pay a disproportionately high amount of taxes for the wealth they own) and people lap it up, not much you can do. More spending. More dependent on government. More votes. More golf with Tiger Woods. More laws. More regulations. Less rights. How long until it is too late?

We need a much broader tax base. When half the country has no stake in the game, they will always vote for the most free stuff. If you are a crack addicted baby maker, who would you vote for? They guy who says you need to take responsibility for your life and work, or the guy who promises to punish working people and give you free stuff?

I've been saying this for years. OBAMACARE IS BAD. It'll tax small companies out of business and eliminate a lot of larger health insurance companies. Say, for example, the one I work for. My job is about to be made obsolete. Millions of jobs lost so that illegal aliens and welfare queens get insurance. Oh, that's right, AND children can stay on their parent's insurance until 26. ...why the fark don't you have a decent job with benefits by 26?!?

Thanks, Obama. Screw you.

I run a small business, we already had healthcare for our employees ... Obamacare will do farkall to our company because we aren't greedy douchenozzles ... YMMV, of course, but if the expectation of employer provided healthcare is going to ruin your business, chances are that you're a pretty shiatty business owner.

- Cut the DoD budget to $250 billion/yr from the ~$800 billion/yr ... foreign stationed tropps ... bring them home ... why do we need as large of a Navy\Air Force\Army\Coast Guard to fight Habib with a backpack bomb?
- End the War on Drugs
- Legalize, inspect, and tax recreational drugs
- Repeal Obamacare and replace with a single payer system or "Medicare for all"
- Raise the SS eligibility age 8 years over 8 years.
- Bring back Eisenhower tax rates and brackets

We'd have a balanced budget within the decade and we could start paying down the debt.  Do the math.

Any questions?

Read about it yourself, dumbass. Since you like history, read about how badly the CBO understates the debt.

http://articles.marketwatch.com/2012-09-06/commentary/33619000_1_cbo -e stimates-debt-cbo-figures

Every January, CBO forecasts the U.S. economy for each of the subsequent 10 years. Since 1997, the agency has underestimated the yearly debt in 85 out of 110 tries.. Almost 80% of the time, the CBO produces (and politicians parrot) a ridiculously optimistic picture of the future.
Ten years ago, the CBO predicted that we'd be $7.6 trillion in debt by now. At $16 trillion, the reality is more than twice as bad. Unfortunately, that's par for the course. Since 1997, the agency's forecasts of the debt five or more years into the future have been 40% too low on average - even ignoring the 2008-2009 recession.
Currently, the CBO estimates that the federal debt will hit $25 trillion by 2021. But if that forecast is also off by 40%, we'll actually be facing a federal debt of $35 trillion by then.
What will our country look like with a $35 trillion debt? The CBO has a good track record of predicting gross domestic product, and it predicts 2021's economy will exceed $24 trillion. That will put our debt at almost 150% of GDP, or about where Greece is today.

Today the federal government pays a paltry 2.6% interest on its debt. Even if the Federal Reserve can hold rates that low for the next nine years, the U.S. will pay almost $1 trillion in interest in 2021. That's more than the government currently spends on the national defense budget, more than it spends on Social Security, and more than the cost of the entire Iraq War.
If interest rates return to earlier levels (say, 2003's 4.7%), 2021's interest expense will top $1.6 trillion. The CBO predicts that tax revenue in 2021 will be $4.7 trillion. Ignore for the moment that the agency routinely overestimates tax revenue (nine years ago, they projected that 2012's revenue would be $3.5 trillion; it was actually $2.3 trillion). A $1.6 trillion interest expense will devour over a third of federal tax revenues.

Uh, no. Just, no. You're forgetting- that when ALL claims are paid through the gov and/or by the hospital, (basically run like Kaiser- not a bad system but it only works because it's a small percentage of the hospital systems) there's no more intermediaries. There's no more health insurance companies. MY ENTIRE JOB FIELD of a decade will be up in smoke. Millions of jobs lost. MILLIONS. Meanwhile fifteen ladies in a DC office monitor the hospital AR/AP and DC will say their economy is thriving.

When there's no insurance to bill or to verify, no financial agreements to be made, no coders, no claims examiners, no claims adjusters, no customer service people for patients to call.... That would be a huge blow to the economy. I'd be reduced to returning to school to learn a completely different trade in order to stay alive. Either that or just go on welfare like the government is actively trying to get me to do.

Government controlled health care will also make doctor supply dry up, worse than it already is. First thing government does, is reduce payments to doctors. Then the incentive for 8 years of school and hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical school is gone. Why do all that, to make 80k a year when you can just be a school teacher?

So, wait, you just admitted that your entire field of business is based on bureaucratic inefficiencies and you want me to feel sorry for you because the government is actually 10x more efficient than private insurance? LOL ...

kiwimoogle84: I like the old-school idea that if you don't pay taxes, you don't get a vote. That would eliminate 80% of obama's supporters right there.

Not exactly Democratic. How about: 1 Constitutionally guaranteed vote for everybody, then 1 vote for every $1000 you pay in taxes?

Thunderpipes: Madbassist1: Thunderpipes: (well, we actually just raised their taxes, and they pay a disproportionately high amount of taxes for the wealth they own)

This is a bold-faced lie. In terms of ratio of wealth to taxes. Wealthy pay slightly less than their fair share.

Ask me for cites. I dare you.

Nope. Also, it is "bald-faced" lie. Learn your snarky sayings.

I will save you the trouble of your citations, figure 7 here:

top 20% earn 59.1% of the income, but pay 64.3% of the taxes.

Wow. thats my cite! Awesome! Why dont you read it!!

In the United States, wealth is highly concentrated in a relatively few hands. As of 2010, the top 1% of households (the upper class) owned 35.4% of all privately held wealth, and the next 19% (the managerial, professional, and small business stratum) had 53.5%, which means that just 20% of the people owned a remarkable 89%, leaving only 11% of the wealth for the bottom 80% (wage and salary workers). In terms of financial wealth (total net worth minus the value of one's home), the top 1% of households had an even greater share: 42.1%. Table 2 and Figure 1 present further details, drawn from the careful work of economist Edward N. Wolff at New York University (2012).

Also, originally it was "barefaced lie", not bald. Boldfaced lie is not as widely used but just as old has barefaced...and older than baldfaced.

But bold-faced goes back to Shakespeare in the sense of a shameless or impudent appearance, so it's reasonable that a boldfaced lie is one told with a shamelessly bold face. At times it's regarded as an error, though it's to be found almost as early as barefaced lie:

Ask me for a cite. I dare you.

seadoo2006: Thunderpipes: The article I posted is a crunchy article as well, but makes my point.

Fair share according to liberals is pay 100% of the bills for anybody who votes Democrat. Democrats should pay no taxes whatsoever, because it is fair, in their minds. Only evil people work, and must be punished.

Funny, because with the tax I paid last year, I could've bought myself a pretty nice new car.  I'm liberal ... I think my taxes are too low .. so, uh, wtf are you on about?

You know how I know you are a liar?

Why? You are wrong in everything you post. We are all now dumber for having read it. You score no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

You didn't even address the original argument, so double bad.

Thunderpipes: Government controlled health care will also make doctor supply dry up, worse than it already is. First thing government does, is reduce payments to doctors. Then the incentive for 8 years of school and hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical school is gone. Why do all that, to make 80k a year when you can just be a school teacher?

Funny ... I was just thinking how many doctors became school teachers in Canada, England, France, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Germany, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Japan, and Australia ... man, they must have a HUGE doctor shortage, huh?  People have to be dying on the streets as well because of so few doctors not being able to make a decent living ... oh wait, you mean that doesn't happen ... and only in America do we throw people out of hospitals? Oh damn ...

You do know you can choose to pay more if you really think that, but we know you wont because your faux rage is just that, faux.

I happily pay 2% more this year for SS ... should've been more than that, but oh well, GOP grandstanding will never see that happening any time in the near future.

Why don't you just give the cite instead of begging for more attention like some whiny douchebag?
