hardinparamedic: Norfolking Chance: How about stopping the pork that congresscritters use to reward campaign contributors and dump equipment on the US military that it doesn't want.

Oh wait that would stop the generals and admirals getting those cushy jobs when they retire.

The US military budget is just a blank cheque used to line peoples pockets.

You're going to have to start by stopping the practice of paying a Civilian Contractor 120,000 a year to repair an M1 Abraham Tank, while paying an E2 who's MOS is Tank Mechanic 25,000 a year to do the same job.

Paying a contractor for 2 years to do it right: 2x120: 240k

Paying some shiathead to do wrong for ten years: 10x25:250k

You have to pay for technical knowledge and expertise.

You know, I don't know which race is worse.  You don't see them farking each other over for a goddamn percentage.

How about firing some of the ginormous DoD staff and use the saved money to buy ammo? All these sequestration cuts are being intentionally done where it'll make the most noise.

Stay frosty...and alert. We can't afford to let one of those sequesterists in here.
