Yes guitarist dies. Not that one. No, not that one either

I've got the feeling that Kane and Daniel Bryan co-wrote this headline.

I was at an Injun casino the other day that was heavily promoting "Yes" appearing later this month.

/same casino has a Beverly Hillbillies game where Max Baer's voice randomly says "come join the clan" when you walk by. Judging from the double takes I saw thats going to be reprogrammed soon

RIP, dude.

Go closer, hold the land, feel partly no more
Than grains of sand
We stand to lose all time, a thousand answers
By in our hand
Next to your deeper fears we stand
Surrounded by million years

I'd kinda like to see this tour.  They're playing 3 of their classic albums in their entirety.  The Yes Album, Close to the Edge and Going for the One, I think.  Their new(ish) singer sounds more like Jon Anderson than Jon does.  I like this trend odf going on tour and playing classic albums.  Give the fans what they want and there are probably some deep cuts that have haven't see the stage since the original tour.  Win win.

Interesting that the thread is full of jokes about the band's name, as Banks was the one who came up with it--they needed a name quickly, so they went with Yes with the intention of changing it later.  Then they got stuck with it.

Of members who are dead? That's doesn't make sense because I think all of ELP is still alive.

KC has had so many personnel changes I wouldn't be surprised if 2 of them are dead, but if so I'm curious as to who.

Cozy Powell, the "P" from the 1986 incarnation of ELP.

In King Crimson, Boz Burrell and Ian Wallace are dead.

Yep.  And John Mayhew in Genesis; he played drums on Trespass.

It's kinda odd, really--I was thinking the other day how Yes hadn't lost anyone, compared to the others.  Never figured it'd be Banks.  He'd been so active in the music scene recently.

Very underrated guitarist.  His work on some of their early live stuff was quite good.

"Astral Traveller" is a great track, with some of Squire's best bass work and some punchy Hammond work from Kaye.  A lost classic.
