I'd wager there are a few idiots around the country that're wondering if they can declare bankruptcy now after spending $1,048 per Twinky on eBay...

I just check ebay. Twinkies are miraculously going for a reasonable price. Except one guy, charging $500 for a box that expired 3 months ago.

That's the last box of REAL Twinkies before the factory shut down.  It's like selling the last six pack of original Coca-Cola from before New Coke.

Great. Now there is going to be shortage of embalming fluid. Or did they take that out?

Well, naturally something manufactured in 1947 would command a premium like that.

Yeah, if the date on that article is correct, that's amazing. I mean, it's spot-on.

Saturday Night Live did a similar sketch around the 2000 election, which showed "flash forwards" of the three high-profile candidates: Gore had installed a massive bank of computers in the Oval Office, Nader was surrounded by flying pigs and earmuff-wearing devils, and Bush.. the room was a burning shambles. So yeah, some folks saw what was coming.

Nope, no shortages -  one of the owners of Hostess is the PBR guys.

You were hoping to see Bimbo grab ahold of those Twinkies and squeeze 'em until the creamy filling came out, huh?

Bancruptcy only really helps large corporations get rid of debt. That way the IP can be bought out by "someone else" (snert) that can really help the brand, help America. Without the labor debt, as God intended.

Irrelevant, Walmart's brand "Great Value" has already stolen the Hostess technology and cloned all their snacks, Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Hohos, cupcakes, even the long lost Hostess "O's" (Rasberry filled white dohnuts) are back on the shelves at walmart and are indistinguishable from the actual products they copy.  All the old hostess brands are there, even dunkin stix. And they are FAR cheaper than hostess ever sold them for.

The Hostess brand was bought by an *Investment company* that doesn't even own a bakery. They will end up sitting on the Hostess name, then trying to re-sell it to someone else for a profit.

You can still get REAL Original Coke every Passover.

They're likely to unload it on Con Agra like they had everything else.

You can still get Twinkies for pre-bankrupcy prices.  As much as you want.
