I don't drink Pepsi, watch NASCAR, drive a Camaro, really know who Jeff Gordon is, or care if it's fake.

I laughed.

mikaloyd: HotWingAgenda: Who cares about NASCAR? I'm just sick of advertisers constantly trying to f&cking trick me into watching their shiatty commercials. Which is what the linked video explicitly is. The title even says it was created by and for the Pepsi Max product, and they have their Twitter hashtag in the description in a pathetic attempt at making their commercial go viral.

FARK! Its where we learn to hate commercial crap and embrace music everybody else never heard of!
Where home juiced vegetables you cant pronounce are better than Pepsi.
And where hipsters are "in" and follow the hipster coolbook.

Your house must be one giant billboard on the outside, with bus stop posters as interior wallpaper, and jingles for used car dealers playing non-stop over the radio at all times.  I'd bet you don't wait for telemarketers to call you during dinner, you just schedule weekly conference calls with all of them, whilst signing the papers for another time share and inviting a door to door magazine salesman in so you can give him a foot massage.

I dislike Jeff Gordon as much as anyone from Talladega, but that's damn funny right there! It was feeling kind of fake until he started dropping expletives all over the place. Glad they didn't use JJ or I'd have been rooting for a rollover.

Of course it's fake! As if there's someone called Jeff Gordon - Jeff and Gordon are both forenames.

Look at how proud these people are to come in and point out how a commercial is fake.

You guys are wasting your time on fark, you should be out foiling terrorist plots and cracking super encrypted transmissions.

Ronnie_Zman: I'm perplexed as to how people still think the salesman was not an actor.

Well, he didn't take Jeff's drink order or read him the special of the day, so I can see how people could be confused.

czetie: farkingismybusiness: Seems more like a Camaro ad. I don't see why Pepsi would advertise like this, but then again I don't watch Nascar.

Pepsi has convinced itself that its advertising strategy should be all about "engagement" and "viral" and "youtube" and facebook likes" and "hashtags" and whatever else the cool kids are doing these days, rather than actually, you know, promoting the name or benefits of the product. It's marketing division is run by people with job titles like "Global President of Youth Engagement", I shiat you not.

The result has been about what you'd expect: Pepsi has leaped from being the #2 cola in America to... #3 behind Coke and Diet Coke.

They make sugar water in a can. There is no benefit to their product. Pepsi and Coke have been fighting for the youth market for decades.

This is a similar circumstance but for real. Ricardo Petrese (former F1 driver) takes his wife for a lap in Honda R-type around a race track. FYI there is cursing in Italian. It really gets going about a 1:30 in.

What_Would_Jimi_Do: i dislike jeff gordon almost as much as i did dale earhardt sr but that is a funny ad.

csb, around 1990 i went to test drive a 5.0 mustang lx that had a boss 302 package, since i was only 19 at the time i needed a parent to ride along with me and the salesman. my mom came along. long story short, driving through downtown asheville the salesman says go ahead and get on it some. if you know asheville, around aston park my mom was going nuts. she was scared to death and the salesman loved it. i didn't get that car but in march of 1992 i got a 5.0 GT a month before i turned 21.

1980(?) my cash loaded dealer buddy had full intentions of buying a brandy new Mustang SVO that very day but the sales lady didn't know that. knowing full well the death ride that was to come i acted simply uninterested in going along on the test ride. Allan was one of the best drivers i've ever known. sales lady's car door was already opened before Al parked after the road test. she managed not to puke in the car but another sales rep had to do the paperwork. Al was grinning ear to ear. no one threatened to call the cops. i recall Al saying to me as he fished a Winston out of his pack, "I tried my damnedest to blow up the engine in that farker".

My house is the slippery slope example of what happens if you do not follow the hipster code of ethics and attack big soda every time you see an ad . Don't be oppressed like me. Live angry but free of Pepsi ads
