EdNortonsTwin: I think there's a trend right now of mock NK produced propaganda videos.  Go to liveleak and there's another one about NK sending their first man in to space, that's so funny I think I peed a little....

ok fine, http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b68_1362959193 here it is.

Holy farking shiat. That was genius.

Don't fail to appreciate this Bonnie situation.

It's a fairly domesticated household. We have snow and a tent made from materials from Best Korea.

Tony_Pepperoni: I'm pretty sure that this is a joke of some kind.

Well yeah, it is satire and like any good satire it becomes believable.

hehehe that was awesome!  I can haz bird?  Is Tuesday.

2013-03-13 01:11:55 AM
Ridiculous! EVERYBODY knows that you make the coffee from urine. Better flavor than snow coffee.

2013-03-13 01:13:17 AM
There is no snow where I live (Texas) but there are birds, which we may only eat on Tuesday. Our melted snow is imported from the North thanks to the People's Republic of North Korea's aid.  I hope they return soon, I need a new curtain as my house had blown down.

"in other parts of America, often disguised as foreign countries in Europe..."

Yep, that's the train station in Bucharest, all right. Wonder how we disguised it into 'Merica? Perhaps it's hiding in Detroit, where no one will notice.

Also, I want my free cup of snow, dammit!

Wait so if I'm not poor but just lonely I'll live a better life by finding companionship? Quick get me a husband! A wife would immediately condemn me back to this life style of course.

They are yummy.

Oh, oops.

Candidate from Oregon, eh?  I always wondered what happened to Bob Packwood.

"Lining up in the cold to get a cup of coffee made from snow" would have been my second or third guess, actually.

I have this awesome idea for a chain of pigeon and hot snow coffee stands across southeast Asia.

/Pigeon will only be available on Tuesdays, sorry.

If "Snow" means koolaid, then yes, America drank a LOT of it in 2008 and 2012

...that is all...

Mentat: And in another, a bearded, apparently homeless man waits in line for food from a street truck vendor. "This man, a former Republican candidate from Oregon, is having to get coffee made of snow from trucks," our narrator grimly intones.

Please.  There are no Republicans in Oregon.

Fake unfortunately. The real propaganda outer space video has better special effects:

The  uriminzokkiri channel on YouTube is actually all just NK propaganda videos released from the government-controlled news channel.

2013-03-13 01:24:38 AM
Faaaake. North Korea does not import coffee, they do not have coffee, so why would they mock us for making coffee from snow? Also, they mention Republican candidates, as if North Koreans know what a Republican or Democrat is. So much of the dialogue is so hilariously absurd that it could not be North Korean.

2013-03-13 01:25:00 AM
Is the unicorn photo an official NK photo of their leader?

Because if it is, the NK's are either the world's greatest trolls or they are nuts. Nuts with nukes. And unicorns.

JonnyG: When you think about it, it's not far from the truth. Admit it.

Um, the number one cause of preventable health problems in the U.S. is from eating too much.

More than a third of the population is obese, and middle class Americans throw away more food than most countries have access too.

Hey, keep the partisanship out of it.  Mocking North Korea is something for both liberals and conservatives to enjoy together. Let's celebrate one of the few things we all can agree on.

nah, photoshop based on a somewhat garbled translation of a press release where the north Koreans claimed to have unicorn bones or some such and it turned out they claimed to have found the city of a king who was linked in legend to a unicorn like animal (and it turned out to be even more silly, because everyone knew where the city was and it was just a new building or something less cool)

Gyrfalcon: Is this propaganda video for real or is it too weird even for the North Korean government?

I'd say almost nothing is too weird for the No. Korean government; but if you're not sure about the translation, here's an idea: Find someone who speaks Korean, and as them to translate. Then you'd know for sure if this is real propaganda, or some South Korean film student's idea of a funny.

Wait...if it's a South Korean film student's idea of a funny, wouldn't it still be in Korean?

I haven't been to Oregon yet, but that's not too far from how I imagine them after watching "toothless log monger", or whatever the hell that stupid reality show is called.  I guess I'm just lucky to be from a state NOBODY makes fun of, like Alabama.

Snow coffee.
Tuesday is bird eating day. Yummy!
The poor, the lonely, the homosexuals.
I vote that one or all of these become Farkisms. Everyone start submitting headlines with your favorite. Also, alert the dayside farkers so they don't feel left out.

Fake propaganda video is fake, but still pretty damn funny. On the other hand, there's a lot of things I've witnessed here that are far worse than this video (mostly not from here) purports to show.

Yeah, that's the part of the video where whoever made this really goes overboard on the joke just in case anyone slept through the satire of the beginning.  This video has college film maker written all over it.

2013-03-13 01:45:28 AM
They left out the part where Obama's goons went around killing straight white Christian men. But we'd expect a little lip service from one commie to another, eh?

I live in Florida and I have no snow.  Also, our houses do blow down in the wind, at least in the midwest.  Those pics and the tents looked like they came out of tornado alley or something.  The city footage looked like Eastern Europe.  We do disquise our cities as European ones though.

buckler: TwistedIvory: I speak some Korean, and what I can hear (and understand) underneath the narration doesn't match up with what's being said.

It's totally different.  The original narration, for example, clearly says that the birds will be eaten on Wednesday, and that they are filling.

This country isn't perfect, but when's the last time you saw someone starving to death.

2013-03-13 01:49:36 AM

Intrepid00: EdNortonsTwin: I assumed this was a parody of some sort when I saw it a week ago.

The part about being no birds, except for these in the frozen tree, which will be eaten Tuesday..."yummy".  It  comes off like a Comedy Central short.

I bet the translation is way off but not as off as we think. Besides they are right. The pay phones probably don't work.

Those payphones don't look like any sort of US payphone I'm aware of.  I do remember seeing pictures of similar phones in eastern Europe.
