BMulligan: Wait, what? I've known thousands of Mormons - I grew up around them - and every single one of them was a Postum junky. Seriously, most Mormon men would trade their fifth daughter for a mug of Postum.

Postum was heavily marketed as a health beverage and coffee replacement. The Word of Wisdom's suggested health benefits are highly in line with Postum marketing. It was also still popular with the WWII generation because they got used to drinking it with coffee rationing during the war.

Had to look this one up too. Hadn't heard of it before.

As long as there's lime Jello with shredded carrots, I suppose it's all good. Oh, and frog eye salad, of course.

It DOES look like a real smile. I can only tell because it's so different from what we saw in the campaign.

Is diet okay?

Barricaded Gunman: Doesn't Mitt's Diet Coke contain caffeine?

The church elders just clarified this: apparently only hot caffinated beverages are forbidden.

So cappuccinos are bad, but iced lattes are OK? That is some of the most arbitrary BS i've ever seen.

Mantour: silvervial: puppypants: I don't think they are anti-caffeine but anti-hot beverages.

HOT beverages? You're kidding! They can't drink something because of the TEMPERATURE??? I knew they were a farking nutty cult, but that's insane.

What about plain hot water?

Are hot liquids cursed? Will they "angry up the blood"?

Caffeine is considered bad, although that's become less of an issue over the years as caffeine has become so widespread and harder to avoid. Coffee is still a no-no. Mormons will drink hot tea if it's caffeine-free. There's even a plant called "Mormon Tea."

I never knew a Mormon who drank decaf coffee, though.

minor adjustments that that are what give organized religion that nice polished sheen of legitimacy.

C'mon, y'all, be nice ... they're making it up as they go along and can't be expected to remember EVERYTHING!

The Mormon church has a large ownership stake in Coca-Cola hence only hot caffeinated beverages are sinful.

An edict that will stand until the Mormon church is revealed to be a Starbucks stockholder.

Seems like every religion has it's own set of retarded dietary restrictions. It's almost like they put them in there so you can spot the infidels.

"Part of the confusion stems from LDS church-owned Brigham Young University, which neither sells nor serves caffeinated drinks. But BYU spokeswoman Carri Jenkins explains that is "not a university or church decision, but made by dining services, based on what our customers want." "

Brutal! College without caffeine!

To be fair, so do we atheists.

I swear he goes into designer stores and pays $200 for a plain blue tie.

Matching party hat?

You know what this guy needs?

I think its kinda fly that he matched up the tie and party hat. Now all he has to do is get a pair of Kevin Durant's because they have the same color blue in them.
