2025? What's the hurry?

2013-03-12 02:32:32 PM
Wait... 2025 for season 4?

Are they planning on shoehorning a season 3 in there between now and then?

/not sure it can be done

2013-03-12 02:53:06 PM
It is worth the wait, well maybe not 2025, but the length of time between seasons is acceptable.

They are basically shooting three feature length movies a year.

Yeah I think he's going to get in trouble for saying this. The hint that Moffat tweeted for the final episode was "Bow", which I and other fans took to mean "His Last Bow", the final Sherlock story, which I think was the intended reaction.

I find this series really well done and entertaining.  Really well scripted and acted and tends to keep me on the edge of my seat.

Sometimes I also find bits of string and foil entertaining but that's another discussion for another day.

I thought that too, but Moffatt being Moffatt, he could just as easily be referring to a violin bow.

Of course. Or a bow tie, or a gift bow, or a bow and arrow. I still think he wanted us to go into the third series suspecting that it was the last.

'Ello guv'nah!  Tis me, Benedict Cumberbatch!  Shine your boots, guv'nah?  Clean as a whistle, sharp as a thistle.  Best in all of Essex, I is!

I was just re-watching A Scandal in Belgravia last night, which is my favorite Sherlock episode so far.  Damn great stuff.

/Can't wait for series 3

2013-03-12 04:14:39 PM
I still think "Benedict Cumberbatch" sounds more like the name of a Sherlock nemesis than the name of an actor.

2013-03-12 04:18:32 PM

mahuika: Yeah I think he's going to get in trouble for saying this. The hint that Moffat tweeted for the final episode was "Bow", which I and other fans took to mean "His Last Bow", the final Sherlock story, which I think was the intended reaction.

He said that, but he also said that the last episode of the third series would be "as frustrating as ever"...so I'm thinking we will have another cliffhanger.  "His Last Bow" is also the name of the book of a collection of Sherlock stories...theoretically, it could mean any of the stories within the book.  He also clarified that it was "Bow" like cow, and not like dough.

However, I am extremely thrilled by getting this news so quickly.  Sherlock is probably my favorite tv show right now (or mini-series, or whatever you want to call it).  I hate waiting, but I'd rather wait for three great quality episodes than wade through a season of 20-something episodes (where I will probably only really enjoy one or two episodes)- it's why I've given up on network programming in general (I am really looking forward to GoT, though).

Wellon Dowd: When is Cumberbatch going stop playing roles made famous by other actors? Holmes. Khan. He needs to find a character to make his own.

The 30-minute preview screenings of Star Trek have pretty much put the possibility that he is Khan to a rest. He may be an augment, but he isn't Khan (which is not to say that Khan won't pop up at the end after all, it just won't be him).

I sort of see what you did there. Even if it were true the man is a fantastic actor and he would be so even if he were playing Hamlet for the 1,792nd time. Frankly the role hardly matters.

VTGremlin: Dwight_Yeast: Zarquon's Flat Tire: Also just realized that's Simon from Misfits.

shiat, you're right.  He's so good that you barely notice him for the first season and a half, except to note how creepy his character is.

Yea, I've decided to not watch Misfits anymore now that they got rid of him(and everyone else). He really was the best thing about that show.

No Nathan was.  Simon became the best hing about it.

Jarhead_h: what_now: when is season three airing in the US? Anyone?

Bittorrent is your friend.

Well since it hasn't actually been shot yet, I don't think bittorrent will do what_now much good.

ZARQUON'S FLAT TIRE, I'M NOT A REPUBLIC SERIAL VILLAIN.

DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK I'D EXPLAIN THE FONT IF THERE REMAINED THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE OF YOU AFFECTING ITS WHIMSICALITY?

I USED IT THIRTY-FIVE MINUTES AGO.

I was not expecting a Watchman font reference in here.

FooDog: I'm still pissed of that HBO cast this hobbit-looking guy (Iwan Rheon) for Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones:

instead of this guy (Benedict Cumberbatch) which would have been creepily awesome:

You...haven't seen 'Misfits', have you?

Go find and watch season 1 right now. Then tell us that Iwan Rheon isn't one of the creepiest farkers you've ever seen.

/which I see other farkers have verified in this thread

Never seen this show, but it sounds interesting. Sadly, I'm having a hard time finding it on the web. Anyone know of any place that has seasons 1 & 2?

/Thankee kindly.

Checked your profile for an email, but no luck. I found it on thepiratebay. It's also up on Netflix (at least Canadian, so must be on American) if you have it. If not, one month free trial. :)

Here I am don't tread on me.

Cabin Pressure is brilliant.

I can second the comment that people do avoid you if you're giggling like an idiot to yourself.

Seasons 1 and 2 are on Netflix streaming (ironically, I was watching season 1 again last night).

Cumberbatch and Freeman have a great rapport, watching them as Bilbo and Smaug in the next Hobbit movie will be fun (They are doing Smaug the same way they do Gollum (motion capture performance, so we'll be getting a little Cumberbatch action in there as well.)

Ha!  Same reason that I listen to it at work, it does make the time fly by...that it also keeps people from bugging me is an added bonus.

/mostly they stay away because I'm laughing to myself like an idiot

Where do you listen to it? I'm interested now.
