2025? What's the hurry?

2013-03-12 02:32:32 PM
Wait... 2025 for season 4?

Are they planning on shoehorning a season 3 in there between now and then?

/not sure it can be done

2013-03-12 02:53:06 PM
It is worth the wait, well maybe not 2025, but the length of time between seasons is acceptable.

They are basically shooting three feature length movies a year.

Yeah I think he's going to get in trouble for saying this. The hint that Moffat tweeted for the final episode was "Bow", which I and other fans took to mean "His Last Bow", the final Sherlock story, which I think was the intended reaction.

I find this series really well done and entertaining.  Really well scripted and acted and tends to keep me on the edge of my seat.

Sometimes I also find bits of string and foil entertaining but that's another discussion for another day.

I thought that too, but Moffatt being Moffatt, he could just as easily be referring to a violin bow.

Of course. Or a bow tie, or a gift bow, or a bow and arrow. I still think he wanted us to go into the third series suspecting that it was the last.

Well yeah. He is kinda evil.  Have you read any of Gatiss's fiction, by the way?  Great stuff.

What is with the Brits and their seeming inability to keep many a popular show on some sort of schedule?

'Ello guv'nah!  Tis me, Benedict Cumberbatch!  Shine your boots, guv'nah?  Clean as a whistle, sharp as a thistle.  Best in all of Essex, I is!

I was just re-watching A Scandal in Belgravia last night, which is my favorite Sherlock episode so far.  Damn great stuff.

/Can't wait for series 3

2013-03-12 04:14:39 PM
I still think "Benedict Cumberbatch" sounds more like the name of a Sherlock nemesis than the name of an actor.

He said that, but he also said that the last episode of the third series would be "as frustrating as ever"...so I'm thinking we will have another cliffhanger.  "His Last Bow" is also the name of the book of a collection of Sherlock stories...theoretically, it could mean any of the stories within the book.  He also clarified that it was "Bow" like cow, and not like dough.

However, I am extremely thrilled by getting this news so quickly.  Sherlock is probably my favorite tv show right now (or mini-series, or whatever you want to call it).  I hate waiting, but I'd rather wait for three great quality episodes than wade through a season of 20-something episodes (where I will probably only really enjoy one or two episodes)- it's why I've given up on network programming in general (I am really looking forward to GoT, though).

When is Cumberbatch going stop playing roles made famous by other actors? Holmes. Khan. He needs to find a character to make his own.

Wellon Dowd: When is Cumberbatch going stop playing roles made famous by other actors? Holmes. Khan. He needs to find a character to make his own.

The 30-minute preview screenings of Star Trek have pretty much put the possibility that he is Khan to a rest. He may be an augment, but he isn't Khan (which is not to say that Khan won't pop up at the end after all, it just won't be him).

2013-03-12 04:41:52 PM
He's freaking hilarious in Cabin Pressure, the BBC Radio sitcom.  One of the few radio comedies that's actually well written.

Anyone?  Anyone?

FTFY.

I sort of see what you did there. Even if it were true the man is a fantastic actor and he would be so even if he were playing Hamlet for the 1,792nd time. Frankly the role hardly matters.

Will it be as long and drawn-out as the last season of Sherlock?  It was awful hard making it through all three episodes.

I think it's great that some tv has reached such a level of quality that actors can shift from film to tv and back again without viewing it as "slumming it" and just seem to be really enthused by the work they are doing.

"Benedict Cumberbatch" is a decidedly English take on the Space Mutiny names.

Watch Elementary where Sherlock instantly knows everything immediately. Much easier to follow.

I sold my tv last week, now I don't own one.  My roommate has a nice one that I can plug my laptop into.  SO while I don't own a tv, I sure as hell watch it.

Yet despite having problems with that season, you made yourself watch it anyway. Perhaps to be able to complain?

Still, you're entitled to your own hipster opinions, the rest of us will continue enjoying the awesomeness that is Sherlock.

I could say the same thing, my friend. Especially with you quote mining to remove the "Still, you're entitled to your own hipster opinions, the rest of us will continue enjoying the awesomeness that is Sherlock."

Try harder next time!

I'm amazed to learn that they haven't even started filming season 3 yet. Man. It's going to be 2014 before that comes out. That sucks.

I love the show. Though the "Baskervilles" episode was pretty terrible.

I'm really looking forward to the "Neverwhere" premiere this Saturday- Benedict Cumberbatch, Christopher Lee, and James McAvoy are all performing it, which is just an amazing.  I'm have something else going on this Saturday, but I may have to push it off until after the show is over XD
