Roy Horn thinks nothing bad could come of this.  If by nothing bad, you mean the tiger eating the dog on a whim.

I'm sure that dog will probably not be too amused after he tries to playfully bite on the lion's neck in about a year from now.

/ Cute video.

If the lion and dog are kept together through the lions life even when a full adult the lion shouldn't be a concern for the dog.

I recall reading somewhere that white lions and Tigers aren't so much "rare" as completely farking artificial, which is to say the don't exist at all in the wild, but instead are exclusively products of captive breeding programs at zoos that breed them for sale on the exotic animal market where they command higher price than their normally pigmented cousins.  Apparently this is a Very Bad Thing because to get the white ones you have to do some serious interbreeding which dimishes the genetic diversity fo the captive breeding stocks

Well, in this case both are predators, and the dog seems to act a lot like a fellow cub would.  Plus, well, big cat's metabolisms are tuned to motivate them to eat every 3-4 days, while in the zoo they're fed closer to every 2-3, so they're never really hungry.

If it works for cheetahs, which are normally loners once mature, it should work for the pride based lions.  A dog is probably actually LESS likely to accidentally hit a 'berserk button' and get itself attacked/killed.

This is definitely true for white tigers, it's a very rare defect that only survives in captivity and all white tigers are decedents from 1 or 2 that were captured as cubs over a 100 years ago.
