Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a farking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin can openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suit on hire purchase in a range of farking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fark you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing farking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, farked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life .

Didn't read Porno, but very much thinking this.

As fantastic as Trainspotting is (I've seen it umpteen million times and never tire of it), it also has hands down one of the best movie soundtracks ever.

Not terribly interested though in any sort of update/remake.

Tried watching that movie years ago, got maybe 30 minutes into it and couldn't go any further. No clue what it was supposed to be about.

I notice Boyle is only saying that Porno may have some influence on the project. Porno was set ten years after the original, and, frankly, would make for a good movie in and of itself. The book also captures the deterioration of the sense of excitement and hope that was shown in London, but even started to creep into the scheme of Muirhouse and Wester Hailes in Edinburgh. I say let Boyle get on with it.

That was The Wizard of Oz. We're talking about the one where the train goes to the North Pole.

I love Boyle,  but I don't see how he's going to get anything resembling Porno into theaters with an R rating.  Wonder if it might not be better to have Irvine Welsh re-imagine that time frame and leave out all of the sweet, sweet ass.

He is. IRRC, he's just gotten out of jail, and Renton spends much of the novel being terrified of being found. Can't really go into further detail w/o giving plot points away, but yes, rest assured that the Beggar Boy is a psycho as ever.

Fantastic book, thinking of reading it again fairly soon.

If they can get the original cast to sign on, then I'm confident it would be a great film.

I'd guess it's from the same folks who did the Rocky Horror Picture Show porn parody.

How the fark do you do a porn parody of a movie that is itself a (soft core) porn parody?

It's like a spoken-word version of a rap song.

The queen has a swimming pool that must be cleaned. Later, she sends for a messenger from the faraway lands where this new victual called "Pizza" is made. Danerys and a few of her friends need some money for the trip out to the mystical land called "Dallas," so they decide to take on some odd jobs in the neighborhood.
