It was 3D printed, I guess. It was just a matter of time until natural geological processes got renamed to "3D printing".

Well it is. But the baud rate is really, really slow.

...  It was next to an unattended fruit and vegetable stand where customers leave money to pay for items.

Didn't anyone notice the $5 bucks on the counter?

It's easy to become a 300 pounder if you eat at Crystal's.

Some of the Great Old Ones are crystalline. One has mineral tentacles. Another is a giant pillar residing on a lightless planet. You've got options.

I've never stolen anything in my life but I would be tempted to steal that as well. That's pretty damn cool.

That's a pretty cool rock, but the headline lead me to believe it was a 300 pound single crystal, which would have been cooler. I found a picture --

...which I suppose isn't strictly speaking a single crystal, either, with those cracks.

Now I'm curious whether that thing grew that way or whether it's been carved into that shape. Looks pretty, regardless.

It grew that way. It's a nice specimen, and might fetch a couple or three bills at auction. It is by no means rare or exceptional,

Ha! Deserves a followup tag. There was no heist at all. He just didn't have their phone number, and leaving notes is probably against his religion or something.
So is solved the case of the idiot's missing crystal.
