Damn it, I thought I forgot Mother's Day for a minute.  I guess they celebrate it on a different day across the pond.

Oasis wildman.

Those two words do not seem to make sense when juxtaposed.

I suspect that the word they used wasn't "twit".

FTFA: "The Beady Eye singer, 40, arrived for lunch slurring his words on Mother's Day at The Queens gastropub near his home."

What kind of coont gets hammered on his way to Mother's Day lunch? If she's that much of a biatch, just don't go. Is it really that hard to figure out?

Jerry Westerby: Rock star?

[blog.angelatung.com image 330x282]

What word don't you understand? He was the lead singer in a band that sold over 50 million albums.

Liam Gallagher getting licked out of a bar? The little black kid on Shameless? Now Frank Gallagher is another story....

"Was" being the most important word in your second sentence.  He's moved on to being a washed-up has been at this point.

Singer in a second rate Beatles cover band.

You do know that he's in a different band and still releasing albums, right? Beady Eye peaked at 31 on the Billboard and 3 in the UK. That hardly counts as 'washed up'.

But Oasis is bigger than the Beatles. He said so

Love this. The Queens in Crouch End is one of my best friend's local and a lovely pub to grab a nice pint or a glass of wine. Totally unpretentious and laid back. Well done them on keeping the atmosphere free from drunk coonts!

Liam Gallagher sang Champagne Supernova so he could kill an entire basket of newborn kittens and puppies on live TV and I wouldn't care.

/No, not really
//But damn Champagne Supernova is a great song
///Thanks Paul Weller

Yeah, Liam's a dickhead but Oasis' rise was nothing short of, pardon the pun, Supersonic. They released their first single in 1994, had their first number one in 1995, opened for REM (!) that summer and then in August 1996 sold 375,000 tickets for two shows at Knebworth. All in 28 months. And despite the almost parody of themselves they became in the later years, those first two albums are phenomenal records

I was in Manchester when their 3rd album came out. The hysteria was crazy.

Also saw them live in a tiny club here in Portland after their first album. There were about 20 people total in the audience.
