Ahh, think tanks.  Where you're parked after you are no longer of any service to the political party you did some dirty work for.

2013-03-11 04:47:23 PM
So, the pro-Israel lobby, then?

2013-03-11 04:49:38 PM
The Democrat-turned-independent from Connecticut will lead the project with former Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ), whose career in the Senate also drew to a close in January.

So ... ex senator on ex senator sex?

Lieberman will serve as co-chair of AEI's "American Internationalism Project," which will seek to "renew the foundations of American internationalism and the commitment to political and economic freedom that has been the hallmark of U.S. leadership for more than half a century,"

This has worked out really well for us in Vietnam, Central America, Africa, and the Middle East over the last 50 years.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: So, the pro-Israel lobby, then?

He should have run against Netanyahu.

Probably could have won.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: So, the pro-Israel lobby, then?

No, no, no.
Lieberman will serve as co-chair of AEI's "American Internationalism Project," which will seek to "renew the foundations of American internationalism and the commitment to political and economic freedom that has been the hallmark of U.S. leadership for more than half a century," according to a press release.
...
"There is an urgent need to rebuild a bipartisan -- indeed non-political -- consensus for American diplomatic, economic, and military leadership in the world," Lieberman said in the release.
He's going to advocate things like military attacks on Iran.. military attacks on Syria... nothing at all to do with Israel, you see.

These are not the neoconservatives you're looking for.

Way to go straight for the least respectable group out there.  AEI, really?

2013-03-11 05:24:26 PM
"There is an urgent need to rebuild a bipartisan -- indeed non-political -- consensus for American diplomatic, economic, and military leadership in the world," Lieberman said in the release. "That's why I am grateful to AEI for initiating and sponsoring this project and why I look forward to leading it with my friend Jon Kyl."

And AEI is going to do this?  Thank God these buffoons have less power than the deputy mayor of Reno.

Liberman served them well by killing the public option on the insurance bill.

Still he served his state well, people were happy with him, and now he gets to cash in.

Really?  Just what qualifications do you need to join a conservative think tank.

What kind of intelligence do you need to have to think like a conservative?

The only qualifications I know of is to be a political pundit or a ex politician.

Is that what we're calling it?

Lieberman has never changed his spots.

He has always remained loyal and true to those whose interests he serves.

Lieberman, along with McCain, are two of the worst examples of American political influence.

No surprise there.  Did anyone think Holy Joe could actually land a real job?  Go ahead and do some thinking Joe.  First time for everything.

Jew Lieberman was a Turd Republican all along. he was never 'independant'.

'independant' is just a feel good word with so much divisivness in our Political theater.   i never thought for one minute that clown was anything other than a corporate owned republican.  he just didn't want to appear to be what he actually is, which is a CONservative Republican Dick.

Can't believe Al Gore made this guy his choice for Veep.

Any other choice and it wouldn't have even been a close race.

Yeah, that was a huge mistake. I've always thought Bob Graham would've been the better choice. By some accounts he was on the short list. Graham was a popular Senator and former Governor from Florida. Having Graham on the ticket could possibly have swung Florida for Gore.

Fark you, Joe Lieberman.

Sincerely,

Connecticut

It was a big factor for me too. Lieberman is clearly an evil alien toad. Possibly a Chinger. I wouldn't let my sister marry one.

actually, the only reason i don't like Joe is because every time someone tries to pin him down to a position on an issue, he's like quick silver.  he darts the other way.  he is both for and against everything.  if he can't commit to something, and stick with it, he should leave office and give his seat to someone who can.

oh, i forgot. this is America.  Legislators aren't there to serve their constituants. they are there to serve their corporate owners.

Internationalism must be the new euphemistic way of saying "aggressively waging unnecessary wars and pissing off the rest of the world."
