FTFA: If you see the story being passed around as fact, you are now armed with the truth. I don't like seeing "our side" passing around untruths because it makes us seem less credible. To be clear, the story was obviously explicitly satire given the source, and the fault with making it seem as if it were a real story lies with those who aren't doing the one minute of fact-checking needed to recognize where it came from.

Like Mitt Romney's candidacy, Paul Ryan's budget, Orly Taitz, Jonah Goldberg, BillO, Rushbo, SwiftBoaters, Phyllis Schlafly, Eric Cantor's tweets,Tucker Carlson's hernia truss, Jerome Corsi's keyboard, pretty much anything on Fox and Friends or the rest of the network, Roger Ailes' asshole and Victoria Jackson's vajayjay. Yeah. We get it.

Sure, the original was satire, but can anyone prove it was wrong? We know almost nothing about the Friends of Hamas. What's Krugman hiding?

That blogger picked up the story from an Austrian magazine, Format. The Austrian magazine noted at the end of the piece that they got the story from the web site The Daily Currant which is a satire site, like an online version ofThe Onion.

Wow. The right-wing blogosphere understands English-language satire about on par with  Chinese newspapers.

If Krugman doesn't hate America and love Hamas, why would he let a rumor like this get started in the first place?  Seems to me a real American would never have things like this said about them.

At least they admit they wish it were true.  They were very hopeful that someone was filing for bankruptcy.  Good people over there at ATS and Breitbart.

2013-03-11 12:04:22 PM
The real news here is that Brietbart actually got duped into printing something that wasn't true, intention or otherwise.

When was the last time that happened?

/An actual date!  I won't accept "Yesterday" and "Two days ago" as legitimate answers.
