Great - Alan Alda pontificating in my face every week - Oh wait! *goes to RTFA*

OMG, this is unprece...

FTFA: However, the North has nullified the agreement on several occasions in the past.

Oh.  So, same-ol', same-ol'.  :-P  What would you do if someone was "negotiating" for a handout and their opening bid was, "I'll start killing my neighbor if you don't give me what I want and stop preventing my other neighbors from selling me stuff!"

Kudos to CNN for actually providing context and history in this article. It's almost like they're doing actual, you know, journalism.

Is there a nation in the world that the Internet laughs at more than North Korea?

2013-03-11 09:45:16 AM
It's just the cancellation of the '53 Armistice, and the threat of renewed hostilities between North and South Korea with the possibility of a nuclear strike.

That's a relief. I was worried it was something really bad, like a network actually trying to re-do M*A*S*H.

Wasn't "After M*A*S*H" enough punishment?

They're moving the nets back into the street. "War on! War on."

The things that come out of North Korea's mouth? Basically meaningless.

If they start massing troops near the border, then start to worry, because they're about to have a massive humanitarian crisis when they figure out they don't have enough food, trucks and fuel to feed them.

Car!

Okay, war on!

Nah.  It's cool.  It'll be directed by Michael Bay, and star Shia LeBeouff or somesuch.  Megan Fox will be "Hot Lips" and then whine post-facto about how it objectifies her all the way to the bank.

2013-03-11 09:48:13 AM
They probably would surrender if we sent Alan Alda over there.  But, that might fall into the category of cruel and inhuman.  Better that we just nuke them.

We need someone to replace Jamie Farr as Klinger. Now who do we know familiar with the situation, comfortable in dresses and able to pass as an insane person?

Hopefully they keep the anachronistic hair. Fros and shags in 1950.

2013-03-11 09:51:05 AM
But... but... what will Cpl. Klinger do since "don't ask, don't tell" has been repealed?

If we're going to have a war, I prefer it to be in 24 minute episodes with plenty of comedy relief.

After MASH didn't suck that bad. They had to do a reboot of the characters and bring in the angry doc who had it worse than Potter. Then, they started on the multi part story arc and got Klinger back in a dress again. It didn't suck. Or maybe I was just really really drunk.

You know what? Go with the latter.
