A Windows XP-based ATM in Russia (I'm guessing) got hacked to run Angry Birds?

Whoa.

Even more impressive:  "Please enable JavaScript to view the omments."

Not sure I want to see the "omments."

Why don't people from foreign countries speak English?!?!!

It'll be a great day when youtubers realize they don't need to add music to make their long, boring videos interesting. Find an interesting concept, edit, or just settle for silence.

I think a lot of it is "I think this song is really cool, and I want everybody to hear it!" Regardless of whether the music fits the video or not.

I can`t believe they have an ATM in what looks to be their living room...

It's probably less impressive than you think. Here's an ATM I found in China:

Or in this case the tie-in was a song called "Zero Day" which is a type of exploit/vulnerability in computer systems meaning it's an unknown (to the software author) exploit that is being taken advantage of in the field.

But please, keep making up your own reasons for stuff.

I suspect there might be shenanigans afoot.

This guy looks a little bit un-upset to have just stuck his bank card in a machine that's been hacked. And he was filming it, which means he knew it had been hacked, and he stuck his bank card in it anyway. Call me crazy, but isn't that a bit like sticking your unwrapped dick in a hooker you know is herp positive because you heard she was a fun ride?

No attempt to block his clear face in the reflection of the screen. Not caring that ATM's have camera especially in Russia where cameras are farking everywhere.

Yeah, I'm calling shenanigans.

Literally every long, boring video on the internet can be paired with an appropriate song if the creator were clever/obnoxious enough to do it. It still wouldn't make the video any less long and boring. Get to the point and leave your "clever" generirock soundtrack at hime.

You know, if I could hack an ATM, I might be less interested in playing "Angry Birds" and more interested in playing "Spit Out All Your Cash".

Of course, the fact that I'd want to play that instead of "Collect All The Card Numbers and PINs and Print Them Out Next Time I Come By" goes to show why I have no future in the criminal world.

Heh. Back in the day, we used to do this sort of thing on POS terminals.

Space invaders on a 2 x 20 alpha display is more entertaining than you might think.

Not sure if serious.  ATMs run on pretty low end PC hardware.  Hell - up until about 10 years ago - most ATMs were still running OS/2.

/not to mention most corporations still run XP

I watched the vid sans audio. To me it seemed the program was on the card and self installed during the transaction.

Not serious, just getting the redundant acronyms out of the way.

He's not worried.  The ATM appears to be Russian, so he's probably using your account info.

Um, not fake.

But staged. Likely an old ATM someone dragged home from the dump, made mostly functional, and uses to do this sort of thing for fun.

Like the plan I had once of setting up a bunch of old 286s to just output terminal nonsense to four or five monitors, just for show.

I think he was trying to make it look like that was how it was done.  It is more likely that the ATM had previously been compromised.  It is possible that putting a certain ATM card in was part of the authentication procedure that let him get to the OS instead of the screen that you usually see.  I saw a talk at the Defcon conference a few years ago on the subject and it is obnoxiously easy to hack an ATM if you can get about a minute alone with it and spend about $100 in supplies, at least with the stand alone ATMs like you find in bars, convenience stores, etc.  The wall mounted ones you find in banks are much safer.  Right after I saw that talk I stopped using stand alone ATMs, I also decided to go to every Defcon for the rest of my life.

Ummm, he was the one who hacked it so it's more like sticking your dick in a herp ridden hooker without a condom because you gave her the Herp. Since he did this after putting in a bankcard I assume the card probably wasn't legit(or the whole thing isn't). Still kinda stupid to post this online(unless it IS a fake) since you can clearly see his reflection in the glass. Either he also gave them personal info with a legit card to nail down who he is or he filmed himself committing a crime when he got money out. I know in America they could prosecute him for the hack whether money was stolen or not, I have no idea what the law is in russia
