After finding out that he is working on a bio pic of the leading female performance artist Marina Abramovic; he is totally trolling us with some strange performance art. However I think he is only doing it to amuse himself rather than doing it in an art form.

Also I recommend looking into some of the work she did. She is a total badass.

I thought I read somewhere that stars or the studios buy their own stars or something. they say "was awarded" but should really be "bought themselves"

Except Weird Al. People have been campaigning for years to get him a spot, but the people in charge keep turning him down. Maybe one of these days he'll hit it as big as Franco.

I never really thought much about performance art or any modern art or anything... Two weeks ago or so I was a bit restless and was channel surfing through the premium channels. I think on HBO I stumbled upon the "Marina Abramovic: The Artist is Present" documentary. I guess I lucked out and it was only maybe, two minutes in. I thought, hm, this is weird. I'll watch it until I pass out.

I watched the entire thing. I was interested, amazed, and confused the entire time. Seeing her and Ulay meet up again was captivating.

I don't really know what else to say, other than I'm glad I stumbled upon that. I can't say I have some new found love for performance art, but I definitely found an interest and respect for it.

Considering OZ pulled in 150 million at the box office this weekend, James Franco can do whatever he goddamn pleases right about now.

Same here...I'm not really sure what she has done.  "OMG, SHE WORE A DIFFERENT DRESS!!!"  Who cares?  I may not be rich or famous, but god, who would want to if they had to live like that?

She made performance art popular and interesting, but it is because of how smart she is to use her body as an art form. She makes people question ideas at the same time as well. Some performance artists just do it for attention, she does it to make people think, or feel something. Plus performance art is not for everyone, because in order to fully get it you have to be physically there to witness it. Marnia is also not afraid to take her body to new feats of endurance, and get naked.

Franco wanting to do a bio pic of her, well he just got my respect for that.

I really used to like her, until she started her quest for the Oscar win. Yes we know you lost a lot of weight for the role. Yes, you really cut off your hair. She had to keep saying how difficult the role was, over and over and over. It just got old real quick.

Anne Hathaway is Best Catwoman. I don't give a fark if she went for Oscar bait once... she has a few more bad choices before she loses my faith.

Yeah I completely understand the "be there to witness" or, well, experience it aspect. At the end of watching the documentary, I felt like I really missed out on something special not being able to experience the Artist is Present performance... so maybe someday I'll get to truly experience something like that myself.

Franco made a small appearance in the documentary, he showed up for the Artist is Present performance. Now I'm curious to find out if that is before or after the biopic aspirations. I'll definitely keep an eye on this project as well. Thanks for bringing it up, by the way.

I love this guy. He's talented, likeable, and does semi-odd stuff that really seems to get under the skin of some people. He's funny all around.
