(YouTube)   I know it's cheesy to plug my town on Fark. But, seriously you if you have the chance, see the San Francisco Bay Bridge 2 mile light show   (youtube.com ) divider line

I'm heading to your town in June. This is on my list of 'have to sees'.

It's a beautiful installation.  I just wonder how long it will be until someone hacks the software and the bridge shows nothing but pictures of flying dicks.

Hate when so called "artists" try to sound so rimbombant (see what I did there?).  It's a freakin' bridge with LEDs controlled by a computer rigged to show lame images from Microsoft Paint.

It looks almost as good as the night we took it over.

Very nice. I'm glad they used the Bay Bridge, and not the Golden Gate Bridge. That would be like tarting up Helen of Troy.

It's not cheesy if it's true. If the kind and gentle people of Rock Rapids, Iowa, ever put a light show on its famous bridge, you can bet that I'll submit a link about it to Fark.

I'll be there with Mrs. Gig103 in April; aside from Alcatraz, Golden Gate, and now this, what sort of "must see", "must do", or "must eat" activities should we enjoy?

The Exploratorium will be open in it's new home on April 17. Fun for geeky adults as well as kids http://www.exploratorium.edu/

Tons of stuff to do at Golden Gate Park. http://www.golden-gate-park.com/

If you're into baseball, AT&T park is one of the best parks in the nation. Your Diamondbacks might be playing when you visit.

Like music? Lots of legendary music venues. http://www.livenation.com/venues/14270/the-fillmore   http://thewarfieldtheatre.com/   http://www.apeconcerts.com/venue_bgc.cfm (Bill Graham Civic Auditorium)

Plenty of Broadway shows as well. http://www.shnsf.com/online/default.asp

Also, we have the America's Cup this summer

Other major bits of sightseeing: Coit Tower, Grace Cathedral, Chinatown, Japantown, Angel Island Union Square (major shopping)

I lived in the Bay Area for 15 years. Still enjoy throwing "Frisco" in a thread just to watch them folks get all uppity. Thanks for ruining my fun!

You strung Christmas lights, er, my bad (I forgot my place on fark. sorry) X-mas lights on a bridge and you're automatically an artist? They string up the monument here in Indy every year, and those people are called 'electricians'. What's the difference, besides them being some west coast, limp-wristed attention whore fellers?
