Makes sense. Most business should be open when the majority of people aren't at work. No one should have to take a sick day or sacrifice a weekend just for a haircut.

Meh. Brought a set of whal clippers in 1997. Still going strong. The wife administers the monthly crew cut.
Last haircut I paid for was for my wedding.

A whole weekend for a haircut?!

Well, yeah. You can't go out and about right after the haircut. It takes a whole day to settle. Also, as a rule, I don't do anything on a Sunday. So if I go Saturday morning for a high and tight, I am done for the whole weekend. I assume others follow my model as it is the only logical way to do it.

Whatevs. My town has had bars with haircut + shot specials for as long as I can remember. I think it's still $15 (has since gone to using clippers on myself because I'm balding).

In the '80's used to grocery shop at 3am with a nice big vodka tonic or a beer. No smoking though.
ALWAYS brought beer to the barbershop.
Everyone pretty uptight now though, don't think it would fly as well in this day and age in the US at least.
