Byrd alleges the pastor later bragged to the congregation that he had "punched the devil and knocked the devil's tooth out."

This is one of reasons I tend to not belong to cults.

Assault charge from an exorcism?  Oh this case is going to be fun.  At least something good came out of that hellhole of a tourist trap.

According to the lawsuit, Byrd suffered extensive medical and dental expenses from the incident and will continue to incur expenses in the future.

I hear he's been unable to keep up the payments on the exorcism, and may have to be repossessed.

I scrambled to the top of the precipice where Nick was waiting. "That was fun," I said. "You bet it was," said Nick. "Let's climb higher." "No," I said. "I think we should be heading back now." "We have time," Nick insisted. I said we didn't, and Nick said we did. We argued back and forth like that for about 20 minutes, then finally decided to head back. I didn't say it was an interesting story.

"Right now, they're processing everything and in approximately two days, they'll release a statement," he said.

This ought to be good.

There's no need. They already climb up on their own crosses so readily and then snipe at each other. Just stand back a bit so you don't get nothing on you and have ample popcorn and soda ready. If you're in NYC better check that extra large big gulp though, might piss Blooming Idiot off.

Even if he did, good luck getting one of those servile f*ckwits in the congregation to tell the truth about it.

It's not a cult.  It's a Christian denomination.  Obviously, there's a big difference.

Or at least not a cult where the Supreme Evil One can be punched out by a mere mortal.

That's not a reason not to believe in any of the Fairy Tale Religions.  It might be a reason not to trust someone who does, and maybe a good reason not to go to church, but in of itself, crazy people doing crazy stuff doesn't provide much evidence one way or the other on the existence of a higher power- although it might suggest that if there is a higher power who created us he/she did it to cast for a cosmic version of the Jerry Springer show.

But that's as likely as any of the other reasons, so again, I say that really isn't evidence one way or the other.

I would further suggest that someone's beliefs should not be the primary source of why you believe someone to be or not be fit for any reason. It is their actions that should require judgement, not their belief system. Some people might consider Mormons as Kooks.  But just because their belief system is different then mine, I will not consider their choices any less responsible then mine

/BTW, I am an agnostic.

The whole farce DOES tend to poke a hole in the Intelligent Design argument, though...
