Thunderboy: I can understand that, and I never meant to suggest that it was the fault of teachers/administrators, because I know they are beholden to the school board and parents in general.
Thunderboy: Zero-tolerance is a bullshiat cop-out. "It's just too much to have to process any given situation, so let's just rule all possible situations unacceptable and be done with it."
Benevolent Misanthrope: This is what happens when stupid people are allowed to be educators. They spout back whatever bullshiat nonsense they've heard on advocating non-violence, no mater how nonsensical, and they apply it to all things, no matter how insignificant. NO critical thought or plain old common sense, whatsoever.
SundaesChild: I'm just as surprised he didn't get in trouble for bringing sugary cupcakes to school instead of raw organic carrots or locally sustainable grapes or something.
tylerdurden217: There are over 90,000 elementary schools in the United States. Getting outraged by the one off cases of stupidity is pointless. Since this case represents such a small minority of public school teachers, it's unfair to paint all of them with such a wide brush.
astouffer: Amos Quito: How can anyone, in good conscience, put their kids into such an insane system?Homeschooling: It isn't just for Religious Fundies anymore.
Amos Quito: Homeschooling: It isn't just for Religious Fundies anymore.
