child psychology, you know shiat about it. No wonder it makes no sense to you. You see, by making little plastic army men a bad thing, the children are being taught army men are bad. Pretty simple. Obviously too complicated for you, however that may be.

That would require a parent being home during the day. Most families can't afford it.

The principal says that no disrespect was intended towards either the family or the military, but she did assert that "Our commitment is always to our children and creating a safe place for them to learn, grown and have respectful dialogues about their differences."

Loving that non-apology, lady.

This is what happens when stupid people are allowed to be educators.  They spout back whatever bullshiat nonsense they've heard on advocating non-violence, no mater how nonsensical, and they apply it to all things, no matter how insignificant.  NO critical thought or plain old common sense, whatsoever.

Amos Quito: Homeschooling: It isn't just for Religious Fundies anymore.

Public shools and their teachers these days, are about as far removed from the realities of life as you can get.

If an adult can no longer distinguish non-reality from reality, they have to be removed from the presence of children

Zero-tolerance is a bullshiat cop-out.  "It's just too much to have to process any given situation, so let's just rule all possible situations unacceptable and be done with it."

Ya know if this nonsensical shiat was around when I was in elementary school (82-87) the entire school would've been expelled. No one gave a shiat if we played Smear the Queer. Nowadays the kids would be forced into sensitivity training. I'm really glad I went to school when I did.

2013-03-09 02:52:42 PM
So they are suggesting "your father is an bad man" and "the army is a bad organization."

I think this administration should answer to the industrial military complex.

2013-03-09 02:53:31 PM
Wow...

I have a radical idea.  Let's take everyone involved in the education process.  Anyone who's ideas on violence is too extreme in either direction (Beatings for all students if moral is too low, or violence, even so much as a finger shaped as a gun or swinging your fist back as nine people beat your ass is just as wrong as the nine who are beating your ass) and fire them.  Next bring in sane people with balls and spines to tell students "Look, you are here for an education, and one thing you have to learn is that even in a civilized society, violence can be an answer, but that doesn't justify all forms of violence..." and go from there.

My eighth grade English teacher told us, when zero tolerance was announced in my school, that when he was in school, two people fight, they had it out, and afterwards, that was it.  It was out of their system.  He said "Take away that outlet, things will just get worse.  I'd rather see two guys fight and get it out of their systems and move on than see the anger build to a point where things will get worse that two students slugging it out."  I have to wonder sometimes, would bullying be the big deal it is now if the victim could punch his bully and at worse, just get one day of detention and not have the cops called?  I used to bully kids when I was younger.  Having two of my victims gang up on me one day on the playground taught me a painful and embarrassing lesson that can't be taught anymore.

Our commitment is always to our children and creating a safe place for them to learn, grown and have respectful dialogues about their differences

Unless your part in the dialogue includes not being rabidly anti-gun.

I know, and I haz a sad.

Back in the day, one parent could work, and a family - even a large family - could live quite comfortably. A second income allowed for "luxury" items.

These days most families struggle to make ends meet with BOTH parents working. The poor get poorer, the rich get super-rich, and the middle class disappears.

And the schools? They don't even pretend to "educate", but have become government babysitting facilities / social indoctrination centers.

2013-03-09 02:55:58 PM
The indoctrination of the teachers is complete. It's time to save your kids. Get them out while you still can.
