Wasn't this originally to provide farm workers more daylight hours to toil in the fields when we had a primarily agricultural economy? I'm sure Snopes has something about it, but I can't be bothered to look it up.

It's still one less hour of weekend. It throws off my whole body rhythm.

Unoriginal_Username: Life would be easier if we stopped using it.

Yes, think of all the wonderful things we can do with that daylight between 5AM and 8AM.

I actually know it has little to nothing to do with the farmers. They work (well, "corporations", not individual farmer families,  since the classic American flag waving over the homestead, farmer with his small tractor is largely a myth now) at all hours of the day.  There is no reason to have DST other than 1. Tradition, which is no evidence of being relevant, and 2. the old 'hey its one more hour of daylight when we need it!' as if this is enough to justify changing time an hour forward and backward. It's retarded.

The whole world should run off one time; GMT. Universal time.  No that doesn't mean people get up at 0600hours at all parts of the planet at the same time , darkness or light. Just means we all use one time. Still schedule your day according to daylight, but we all use the same actual time. The whole planet should have one universal time, not time zones. There is no need for it.  If it means you start your day and the end of the GMT cycle , then so be it. You still are up and about during the daylight. The only thing that is changing is numbers on a display or screen, nothing more.

I signed this, so I won't need to change my clocks this weekend.  Thanks, government!

ecmoRandomNumbers: *does not apply in Arizona.

That means tonight we go back on Pacific time, which I prefer, because it means we're no longer in sync with Utah and Idaho. F*ck Idaho.

Actually, you will be in sync with northern Idaho. Which is the crazy part.
