Tim Howard's broken back has me shiatting myself for qualifiers. Guzan's an okay keeper, but he's untested in the big time. Hope he can show up.

DC fans, how's Bill Hamid been? Could he step in?

And how is it possible that Carlos Tevez can't afford a driver until he got his license back?

We're halfway through the baseball equivalent of the World Cup and no one can get a single thread greened, so I'd take a thread even with trolls.

Now that was a hard one two from Wigan. Two mistakes from Everton and Wigan have made them pay.

I'd rather not like a thread like the last two footy threads we've had, which were a soccer hatefest and Stormfront-lite.

WHAT?!?!?!!

Another one?

Wigan to survive in 17th.

I just submitted one with a Fark-worthy trolly headline with an ESPN link to an article about the US's loss last night
Today's games (not counting the Taiwan-Cuba one that started at 6 and just ended a bit ago) start at 11 ET.

Howard broke a couple of bones in his back so is out for a few months. It was three minutes of madness where Wigan did a damn good impresion of Pepe era Barcalona and put in three goals.

Also, I'm working at a new place, alongside a Newcastle fan. So, outside of my utter glee at how well Tottenham's playing, I also have opinions on the Magpies avoiding relegation.

I didn't know you were a what.cd member drewogatory I am one myself!

I had a dream the other night that Spurs would beat pool 2-0 so that is what I'm going with. Insurance on a Swansea/West Brom draw and my banker on a Norwich win.

ADubs86: Tim Howard's broken back has me shiatting myself for qualifiers. Guzan's an okay keeper, but he's untested in the big time. Hope he can show up.

Bill Hamid is coming along, but probably not ready for the big time yet. I do think he is better than Sean Johnson though. He really needs to work on coming out for crosses/corners more and minimizing some of the mistakes that he makes that leads to him getting sent off. He's been sent off 3 times in the past 2 seasons, but that could also be because of the defense some times. I think he could be good for the next World Cup cycle, but probably not this one as much as it pains me to say it.

DC United's home opener is tonight against RSL. Hoping they can put on a better show than their dreadful showing against Houston last week. DeResario is serving the second of his 2 match ban for headbutting a Philly player in their last pre-season match so the attack is going to be lacking again. I'd be happy with a draw, but hoping for a win.

I'm a fan of Moyes and have huge respect for him, but I think he has found his level. He doesn't have the balls to cope with a bigger club and big expectations. He's better as the underdog.

For the one other person watching the Norwich game its currently a balmy 1 degree C and sleeting. Glad i am back in doors with a hot cuppa.

I wish Hughton was a bit more attacking in his set up. When we went on that run we were much more attacking.

Swans wearing their Miami Hurricanes kit, which is f*cking awesome.

Not that anyone asked, but I double-chipped an Aston Villa-Reading draw
