(LA Times)   Book written by 96-year-old woman about her 73 year marriage hits Amazon's bestseller list. Thankfully, she didn't say it was always a happy marriage, or it would have been placed in the fiction section   (latimes.com) divider line 19

$18 for the hardcover, $10 for the Kindle edition.  Not worth it on either front, this is a plug for a publisher.

I'll wait until she dies.  Then it will be $3.

Still thinking about the previous thread with its 4x6 foot hoo-haa posters.  Please tell me grandma's not one of them.

Wow, wasn't expecting the dissing in here. Good for her and her "Pop Pop"! I hope to make it to 70 and beyond. My in-laws made it to 52 years before my FIL passed away (MIL lasted just a year without him). I've made it to 32 in April. Some of us have staying power, and the advice she gave in the article is spot on.

"If you wish to stay connected and happy in your marriage, my advice to you is to never be too tired or too busy to feel love for your partner," Cutie writes. "When your life is nearly over, you will regret it if you look back and recall too many nights when you made excuses instead of making love."

My grandmother told me nearly the exact same thing.  And she went on to say that they were intimate well into their 80's.

Subby don't know love. Mrs. Clem and I married 32 years ... no arguments, no fights, never raised a voice to one another. Still like we're on a honeymoon.

Speaking from experience, that's a bad sign. How much has been kept bottled up, and is just waiting to blow?

Am I a horrible person for thinking that she looked a lot like Anne Frank?

15 years for me this year.  We've had our moments, but it keeps getting better.  Good on her.

Anyone who is married and says they're still living like they're on their honeymoon, either is:

1. Newly married and really still on their honeymoon or2. Lying. That is all.People change - you will eventually end up compromising or you'll be divorced.
