I've yet to encounter a BBQ joint in Texas I didn't like, but Baker's Ribs in the Weatherford area is awesome on their sides.

The ONLY BBQ join I could find in London is Bodean's.  Not the absolute best in the world, but pretty damn good for England.

In NY you gotta hit Dinosaur BBQ.  I go to Syracuse, but I think they are in Harlem and Rochester as well

Best BBQ in Fairbanks, Alaska is Tubby's.  Not fantastic, but better than anything else in town.  Except in the summer, when JaRobs is open in it's little trailer across the street from Fred Mayer's West.

Stamford CT too. They are very good, but don't really compare to Memphis or TX.

Thank you, I was just about to come in here and ask for some good Baltimore BBQ. I'm living in the UK for the next few years (not exactly good bbq territory) and my first time back stateside will be there.

I'll take a Z-Man from Okie Joe's, but that's about it.  I prefer to spread my loyalty around the city....

Ribs: Fiorella's Jack Stack
Pulled Pork: BB's Lawnside BBQ
Sauce: Gates BBQ
Smoked meat: Smokin' Guns

And the best BBQ I've ever had in Texas came from Dub's, just outside Tyler near I-20.

Texas:  The Salt Lick, in Round Rock

Unfortunately in the Boston area, there's not much to choose from. Blue Ribbon or Red Bones is pretty much the best as far as I know. If, of course, anyone would care to correct me, I would be much obliged.

Just south of Watkinsville, GA.  Kinda ecumenical, they have vinegar- and tomato-based sauces (I'm not a snob).

Just take a Southwest flight to KC and tool around the BBQ joints.

It's something you need to do before you die, anyways, so get it out of the way.

My own homemade smoker. My own Angus, and my own wild hogs. Don't need to go to a restaurant. Use applewood, make my own rub ... sauce is for covering up badly done meat. Make my own sausage, hang my own hams.

Wilson's ribs are shiatful quality and the sauce is basically tobasco, not to mention their awful sides. But there's also no good bbq in Pittsburgh so I guess you're stuck with it.

Dreamland in Birmingham Alabama.

Haven't been there in years, so it could have changed, but the giant smoker that would open towards the eating area was pure maniacal genius. Every time they got some thing out, put something in, or mopped it with sauce, the whole restraint would immediately smell awesome.

McRib, baby!

I'm pretty sure I've said this before...but, the McRib is high school cafeteria food.

Seriously.

My high school used to serve a "rib" sandwich that looked exactly like the McRib looks.  It was a pressed meat product (with a rib design) covered in sauce.  I don't know what the McRib sells for, but it couldn't possibly cost more than 30¢ to produce.

Dickey's is the walmart of BBQ.

Rudy's BBQ is some fine stuff yet very under appreciated

Ketchup & brown sugar covered beef does not count as BBQ. Sorry Texas. If you have to mask the flavor of the poor quality meats you use with ketchup, then you're just doing it wrong. Oh, and Lexington BBQ #1 FTW, though true Eastern NC is a tight second - but not that crap they serve in most places in Raleigh passed off as NC BBQ (which amazingly still makes BBQ shows on TV as authentic, clueless.)

I thought Rhodes in London was good, but they are closed now.
