(The Weather Channel)   Is ten inches of snow in Flagstaff a sure sign of global warming? Will the pot dispensaries still be open in Denver in a blizzard? Will the Plains get all wet like your Mom? It's your official Winter Storm Triton discussion thread (w/radar of storm)   (weather.com) divider line 13

ozebb: Trance354: Going to work, here. Buses are on time, which is odd, for Denver. Visibility is about 400 yards ahead. No accumulation on the roads, but the slush effect is starting to show. Should be a slow day at work.

Don't call them "skeptics". As they have already decided what they think is real, and no amount of evidence will convince them otherwise, they are in fact the exact opposite of a "skeptic".

Meh, You'd be arrogant too if you lived in the great climate I have enjoyed my entire life. The only real downside is the Seattle like hipster run we've been on for a few years now. You're just jealous of the magnitude of outdoorsy entertainment options and the open spacing provided so we don't have to be crammed on top of each other.

Twenty years ago when I was a child, I swear all the grass was covered from November to March. I remember Trick-or-Treating in the snow a few times. Now we get a few inches a few times a year. The snow is even different. It's now tiny little ice crystals that don't pack together, they just blow around like sand. Even just 11 years ago when I started driving, winter was completely different than it has been for the past few years. Of course, on a geological timescale, my observation is meaningless.

NOAA circulate and internal memo that employees are not to indulge this nonsense.

Infobahn: Newsflash: It snows in Northern Arizona - Which is at 7,000+ feet. (It also melts fairly fast).

Newsflash:  People in Colorado don't freak out over a few inches of snow.  We just ask that the CaliTexan transplants stay off the roads.

We do this every year, I swear.

Subs, Flagstaff is in the high country. It gets more snow per year than Buffalo NY does.

1. Syracuse, NY (housing, pop. 140,658): 115.6 in
2. Clay, NY (housing, pop. 58,836): 115.6 in
3. Anchorage, AK (housing, pop. 278,700): 114.0 in
4. Utica, NY (housing, pop. 59,082): 108.2 in
5. Flagstaff, AZ (housing, pop. 58,213): 100.3 in
6. Coconino, AZ (housing, pop. 74,488): 100.3 in
7. Cheektowaga, NY (housing, pop. 79,988): 93.6 in
8. Amherst, NY (housing, pop. 116,773): 93.6 in
9. Buffalo, NY (housing, pop. 276,059): 93.6 in
10. Niagara Falls, NY (housing, pop. 52,326): 93.6 in

29. Salt Lake City, UT (housing, pop. 178,858): 58.5 in

Denver get 53.8

See? Learned something, didn't you? Don't you feel stupid.

Man I wish I could be at Snowbowl or Sunrise today ...

This weather couldn't be finer in Denver.  Snow on the weekend instead of a weekday, and back into the 60s by Wednesday.
