that is just so dumb to me. I mean, don't they know at least one gay person? Maybe have a gay family member? How you can be so closed minded and hateful towards friends and family just makes no sense to me. Millions of people know a gay person and the sun still rises. But I don't thump bibles and f*ck chickens so I guess they aren't talkin' to me anyway.

Anyone responsible for spawning the "mind" that's behind Conservapedia should be ignored in regards to everything, always.

Please keep it up. Doom the party to irrelevance as the doddering cloud yellers die off, and the younger generations simply refuse to join your ranks, middling age folks flee, and the only folks left are so ineffective as to be useless save to drum up support from only the dullest and most easily distractable. THAT will show 'em.

This is one of the ultimate "but then what?" situations for me.  So let's say that DOMA is repealed and now marriage is open to adult, consenting couples regardless of gender.  Then what?  Does that mean my marriage to my wife is null and void?  Does that mean that church is outlawed?  Does that mean the federal government will have infringed on my rights in any way?

Even if I was a fire and brimstone preacher, I'd still be able to rail on about gays being all oiled up and sinful with their tight pants and softball teams and cat ownership.  My first-amendment rights would be protected, as would the financial sanctity of my marriage.

So... then what?  I suppose they'll be compelled through market forces to provide employee benefits to sinful gay spouses the way they would for hetero spouses.  I suppose that could cause them to have a frown... maybe.  I guess I'm just ignorant.

Another weird thing is her nephew (also named Schlafly) runs one of the largest breweries in St. Louis. And I'm not talking about Anheuser-Busch. His beer is a decent craft beer.

I'm starting to think that is the real reason. Money. They just use God to trump up their argument.

You obviously don't understand how rights work. By allowing the homogays to marry you're being denied your rights to discriminate against them, much in the same way that Fartbong0's election has denied your right to never have a black president.

The fact that they're not against divorce or Atheist marriage shows that they really don't give a damn about their relgion and just hate the icky gays.

According to my father (an atheist), if gays are allowed to get married, then the definition of marriage changes and everyone will be confused and the world will plunge into chaos...or something.

He's okay with it in theory, he just wants them to call it something else. You know, separate, but equal.

Do you know any drug addicts? You love them, but don't condone their life choices, or want society to accept their behavior. For those who honestly believe that loving someone of the same gender as yourself is somehow sinful, this is basically the emotional analogy.

If I drink Schlafly again, am I contributing to her political causes?  Because there are plenty of apolitical beers to choose from in that case.

I actually had a former coworker cite, as a reason to oppose gay marriage, the further drain on Social Security by allowing same sex spouses to collect benefits.

FTA: While Schlafly declined to predict what the Supreme Court would decide in the pending same-sex marriage cases, she criticized the notion that "in a country of hundreds of millions of people, five people can overturn all the state and federal laws" pertaining to marriage.

But I'm sure you adored the Citizens United ruling. Welcome to democracy, Biatch.

revenge is sweet for those who wait
never early always late
waiting now to consummate
a marriage made in hell
hand in hand, walk alone
as good advice seems to drone
evil cuts right to the bone
chorus
has it come, awakens me
is it done and will it ever die
will it go. taking me
don't you know
evil never dies
keep me close to your heart
adversity will come apart
and finish just before you start
never question why
today was then, remenber when
skipping numbers one through ten
permanence through the pen
chorus
read the rights a prophete's word
i've learned to deal with the absurd
and reach a darkened
pinnacle of light
money hungry, power thirsty
penny piching, fear inflicting
[- From: http://www.elyrics.net -]
double crossing, back stabbing
promising eternity for a price
suckin', brain washing
mind raping, soul stealing
constant preaching, salvation reaching
lowest form of human, farking life
evil never dies
laughter stands accusing me
emotion stands abusing me
the battered and the bruising me
is there darkness when you die
i heard a sound noone there
i heard a shot noone cares
laughter turns into despair
chorus
evil hidden everywhere
evil has a chilling stare
null and void of any care
is where the answer lies
it does no good to beg or cry
it does no good to question why
it does no good it never dies
evil never dies

The lack of disastrous consequences resulting from same-sex unions occurring nationwide will expose opponents of such marriage as lying idiots. As a result, their credibility will be substantially reduced and, with it, their political power. Politicians who advocated against same-sex marriage whose credibility is destroyed may ultimately be voted out of office, rendering them unemployed. Church membership may decline, resulting in ministers and pastors having substantially reduced tithe-derived income. Their reduced income will force them to spend less, hurting the overall economy.

As such, the case against same-sex marriage -- and thus the case for allowing liars who oppose it to continue to lie with impunity -- is clear.
