She's sad because she has no pants and underwear.

Ishkur: How do we know this is what's actually happened? This is a freeze-frame of what looks like a girl introducing another girl to a third girl. It doesn't look like they're actively ignoring JJ, and for all we know the black girl was going to turn back and acknowledge JJ 5 seconds after greeting the other chick. That's what people do. For all we know, JJ was just caught looking down at her nails or something. It doesn't look like a pouty-pose that she'd want to telegraph any more than a second or two.

Without any context -- what happened before and after -- it's impossible to ascertain anything exceptional from this photo. This is why I hate gossip blogs and the presumptuous nonsense they spew daily.

This.... this might be the most unnewsworthy unnewsworthy item ever.

Pentaxian: It doesn't matter. She still gets paid for being at the show. Maybe not as much as Anne or Kristen but she gets some coin.

What does it say about me when first looked that picture and I saw Anne Hathaway I first thought "What the hell? Is that Veronica Avluv?"

NOTE:
Googling Veronica Avluv will lead to some very naughty images and movies that will get you not only fired from work, but they will destroy your computer and salt the ground upon which your cube used to be.

Let's just say Ms. Avluv shows more than a little leg.

I hope you never search for Ava Devine.  With that, they leave the cube standing, but fill it with concrete instead.

/Her Twitter is dementedly awesome

People are pissed at Ann Hathaway because she wouldn't wear a Valentino dress to the Oscars once she learned that Amanda Siegfried (sp?) would be wearing a similar one, so she ditched it for the plain, pale pink Prada one. But worse, she issued a press statement to explain all this and apologize to Valentino. It just pushed her into 'diva' territory.

January Jones is reviled because she had a string of relationships with men in quick succession and has a baby with one of them and won't reveal who the father is so she's suspected of being a home wrecker.

And that's all the internet has taught me.

Wait, wait.

Anne learned that Amanda Seyfried was about to wear a dress similar to hers, so she busted out a contingency dress, let everyone know about it and apologized for it?  And she's a "diva" now because of that?

Feel sorry for her? HELL NO!!!

Don't forget the new cover sheet on your TPS reports. Did you get the memo?

/I'll send you the memo again.

Ha! Ok, well it's not all that bad. I'm self employed and I live in Hawaii. I have a great view of Diamond Head out of my office window, and it's sunny and about 82 degrees outside. But I still have to work my ass off while she gets to hang out at a fashion show in Paris. It's all relative, I guess.

Anne Hathaway is reviled?  On the same level as Kristen Stewart?  What the hell?  When did this happen?

Something about the last Oscar night.. I don't understand it.

I think it has something to do with how phony she comes across.
She gushes and is just so, gosh!, just so pleased and wow I do not deserve ANY of this! Gosh! Golly me! Oh now I should tear up a little bit as I pretend to care about coworkers and *sniff*, etc etc etc

Although I'm not sure why we're supposed to hate January Jones? She was hot in Mad Men, that's all I know about her.

Apparently I suck at being female, because I just don't see how two women wearing similar-looking dresses by the same designer to the same event is a problem.  Why didn't she just wear her Valentino anyway and do a "Hey look!  Twinsies!" photo op with Seyfried?  That's what I would have done. (I'm also most decidedly not famous, so I'm probably missing something.)

And supposedly (I heard this from a gossip site somewhere, so it should be taken with a barrel or two of salt), Hathaway had a screaming fit at Seyfried when she learned they were planning on similar dresses.  If that's true, it was kinda the opposite of classy.

Yes, especially since the two dresses weren't very similar in design (the fabric and color were similar), but more especially because Ann was up for an Oscar so she'd have more attention that night, anyway than little Amanda Seyfried would, but most especially because she issued a statement to the press about it. It just seemed a little too much like she was in her rarefied Hollywood world as opposed to the down to earth person people expected her to be. I don't understand these things much (actor/actress etiquette), but I've seen this story come up at least six or eight times since the Oscars, and I think that up until the Oscars, the general consensus was that she was a decent person. *shrugs*

If she had a screaming fit, obviously she's a mega-biatch.   But I think actresses want to avoid wearing the same dress because of the subtle sexist "arena" mentality the celebrity media projects over everyone.  That everyone woman is in direct competition with each other one to be sexy (for men).  If two women wore the same dress suddenly all it would be would be direct comparisons of each woman, like "Who wore it better!?" Then the media would crown one the winner, and the other would forever harbor a jealous rage.

Not that the women would really think that. I just get the feeling that the gossip media just wants women to start literally stabbing each other on the red carpet for our amusement, and anything that furthers conflict between women is celebrated.

It has been building during the current awards season. Her long-winded, tearful acceptance speeches where every other word was "I" "me" or "my" started to get on people's nerves. She was actually getting booed at the last awards show before the Oscars (the BAFTA) by the end of her speech. She then hired a speechwriter to write her Oscars speech to make herself appear more humble but made a big deal out of hiring the writer. Throwing a fit over the dress thing was just an extra..

"Thank you BAFTA, I'm so honored," the actress said. "I'm so relieved I'm coming down with laryngitis because the location, the giddiness, this could be a recipe for disaster. I might sing."
When the audience didn't laugh, a breathless Hathaway added,  "Anyway, that didn't go over well, it went better in my head."  The audience did laugh.

Hathaway, who played Fantine in "Les Miserables," went on to thank everyone from her fellow cast member Hugh Jackman to her makeup artist and the film's director Tom Hooper.

Yeah, what a biatch.

It wasn't even the same dress, though. They had completely different silhouettes and cuts. It was really the fabric that was similar--both kind of ivory or gray and embossed with floral embroidery. I think Ann kind of overreacted and it was a bit of a princess-like fit to throw, especially since she is apparently pals with Valentino because he designed her wedding dress. You don't see men flipping out because all every other guy at the Oscars is also wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a black tie! So I agree with you, if all the men dress alike, then it's bound to be the women who have conflicts of this variety at the Oscars. Very clever ruse!

Oh, I forgot another reason why January is despised, lately. She apparently had a snog session with Miley Cyrus's fiancé at an Oscars party JJ brought him to. She ll forever be a home-wrecking devil woman!

Holy shiat, this entire thread reads like an overheard conversation of the popular girls back in middle or high-school.
While it is somewhat entertaining in an "only feelings were hurt" train-wreck sort of way, I can't help but think there must not be enough real problems in our society to keep this sort of thing in check and in a proper perspective.
