FTFA:  "Last year, when St. Patrick's Day fell on a Saturday, authorities struggled to handle hundreds of young people who converged on downtown and the Inner Harbor. A tourist from Northern Virginia was beaten, robbed and stripped of his clothing in front of the east building of the Clarence M. Mitchell Jr. Courthouse while onlookers recorded the scene with their cellphones."

OK, as a former resident, you know your city is farked when people are being beaten and stripped on the steps of your courthouse.  Seriously farked.

Just in time for the Orioles to come home from spring training so the near-daily clusterfark bar crawl outside Camden Yards can begin again. I went to two games last year and both times there was a guy standing outside one of those sports bars holding up a sign made from a cardboard box with the phrase "CHEAP ASS BEER" written in black sharpie.

I mean I think of Milwaukee as more of the drunken image.

Canton's O'Donnell Square was full of people drinking in the open, while some party-goers urinated on rowhouse steps in Federal Hill.

This happened because St Pat's.

Senseless drunken violence. And sober violence, and cracked-out violence, and...

I was born & raised there while it got worse. I split in '96; every time I go back to visit my family it's degenerated more.

And what's worse is the hipsters that took over Hampden are spreading. Wasn't ruining Fells Point enough? When there are so many hipsters in a city that they need to "gentrify" neighborhood after neighborhood -- and price out the original residents from one neighborhood after another -- that is not a good sign. You can't support a city with overpriced coffee shops, retro consignment boutiques and tattoo/piercing parlors. And do you really expect people you pushed into Section 8 "garden" apartments in Owings Mills to drive all the way back to pick up your damn trash? And where do you expect your offspring to go to school? I warned some friends against moving to Harm City because the public schools are dangerous and shabby; you can't all send all your sprogs to Catholic schools and the secular private schools are getting pricier every year. Or maybe you'll home school an entire generation of new iWhatever users. As the city continues to crumble aroud you. (Give up and move to Fresno!)

I do a fair amount of business in Baltimore and it is one of my least favorite cities. There's around a 2 block radius around the harbor that has a few OK neighborhoods, and one more block and you're back in the nasty-ass parts of Baltimore - which is to say MOST of Baltimore. The way I figure, "Charm City" is an ironic nickname like a fat guy named "Tiny".

A couple nice restaurants, the stadiums (if sports are your thing), a great hospital, and an OK aquarium... Other than that? Stay the fark away from Baltimore. Even driving in up 95 at night it reminds me of the city in Blade Runner - only without the flying cars and art-deco pyramid charm. Driving through? Keep farking driving.

Are you really a tourist if you're from 1-2 hours away?  Around the DC area that's called a commute.

It's been awhile since I've experianced it, but they are packs of kids on those bikes on the streets and they DGAF. They'll ride into oncoming traffic and pop their wheelies because they "know" you'll stop. Wonder if there's ever been a time when they were wrong..

Violent and drug-fueled.  Not drunken - that's up the road in Towson or down 95 in College Park.

I avoid Baltimore like the plague but have several friends who for reasons I cannot fathom choose to live there.  Apparently roving gangs of drug-dealing dirt bike riding asshats are not as common as they once where but are still found in various parts of the city.

As for helmets they are too stupid to use them.  They say "you don't look cool in a helmet", only they find grammatically incorrect ways to say that.  They are also good at decreasing their numbers on their own due to gun fire and avoidable accidents.
