If I ever have the kind of money to buy one of these (I won't) I can guarantee I would be taking a few classes on how to drive the damn thing.  There is a lot of power to them wheels...that the average driver is not used to.

If I had £165k to waste, i'd spend some of it on track days before trying that - I bet a little practice would have saved a lot of mysery.

Modern super cars have so many computer assists that what you see in the video shouldn't have happened.

I find it curious that he was driving so slowly at first and then when he takes off he instantly spins out.

I'm guessing he was turning off the traction control and/or switching the drive setting to sport/race.

I remember reading an actual F1 driver, I think it was Gerhard Berger, driving a F40 and even he was caught off guard when he floored it in 4th doing 100 and the wheels started spinning.

This guy came very close to taking out the Ferrari camera car as well.

Killjoy.

Still:  had this person bought an Alfa Spider he wouldn't have had that problem:  heck he'd be lucky if it
was moving at all.

It uses paddle shifters so it's remarkably easy.

Heck, the new Lamborghini Aventador will only drive in automatic unless you hold in a button and manually turn it off.

So many people wreck these things, I guess super car makers are trying to make them idiot proof.

Yes, he did
I saw this on ABC's Right This MInute this morning. It's like Web Soup but they have 4 hosts who are even dumber and more annoying than the guy on Web Soup. They make Daniel Tosh seem like a farking genius. There's nothing good on TV at 9 AM in the morning. The videos either usually suck or I end up seeing them on the Fark video tab eventually - or I already have seen them.

You'd think a network like ABC could hire a translator to tell us what the guy filming it said, but they didn't.

If I owned a Ferrari I would get a license plate frame that said "My other car is a 1972 Pinto". And I wouldn't drive it in the rain. And I probably would own another car so I wouldn't have to drive my Ferrari in the rain. Either that or I'd be so rich that I'd drive a Bugatti and put a license plate frame on my Ferrari that said "My other car is a Bugatti".

But it appears to me that my Chrysler handles better than that Ferrari. HA HA!

It's almost like you shouldn't buy an insanely powerful machine without taking the time to learn how to use it.

The idiot filming passes him on the on-ramp. One of the most idiotic shiat-headed and dangerous moves you can do.

Also: never turn off the traction control. Especially in the rain. Especially when you're new to the car. Especially when the car is grossly expensive.

It would be a hilarious joke that only I'd be in on.

A bit of common sense goes a long way. High powered care in the wet = drive sensibly. You don't need special lessons to be able to do that.

So much this. Straight Dick move and just to get a camera shot.
Probably spooked the driver pretty good and could have been a factor in the driver malfunction.

A dick move, perhaps, but the driver of the Ferrari was eating shiat. Anyway, the pass had nothing to do with what happened next.

Actually the equation is Ferrari + Rain = Crash.

Plus only an idiot drives a ferrari in the rain, its going to take hours to dry off the under carriage with a hair dryer

My italian is rusty.....very rusty, But I got the impression the people in the filming car know the guy in the Ferrari. Maybe he wanted a film of his first drive.
