"I said, 'Can you give me the money?' It's not like I said, went in there with a pistol, tried to hurt anyone. Honestly if they would have told me no, I would have turned around and walked out," he said.

Having lived in SF for 4, 5 years, I have to say that I never really thought badly of the SFPD.  The ones I've come across are fairly mellow for big city cops.

They're certainly not on the same "let's shock and awe the local populace"  power trip program as the LAPD.

I am beginning to have serious doubts about the validity of the maxim that "it pays to advertise". Week after week, Fark and Smoking Gun post evidence that advertising your criminal intent or actions just don't pay.

Tattoos, t-shirts, Facebook posts ... people just can't resist fingering themselves for crimes that they commit or even didn't commit yet.

That may be why the world is run by the people smart enough to STFU and GBTW.

Fortunately, it is my lunch hour.

Nothing says "winner" like expletives on a neck tattoo.

When will criminals realize that the NCIC database that law enforcement agencies report to and pull reports from has a field for "distinguishing characteristics", which includes scars, birthmarks, and TATTOOS?

You don't think of SF as a large city?

"I just knew from the last time they will only give you $5 to $1,500. You might as well just get a couple of them if you're doing it," said Lacy.

Pro tip.

Well, see, first the average criminal would have to be SMART about their life choices...

I can't be the only moran who has realized you should apply Temporary Tattoos when playing the hoodlum game. A decent fake moustache, sunglasses & ballcap, perhaps a reversible lightweight jacket. Take off on foot to a waiting bicycle, most of your description has changed before you reach your first waiting stolen car.

That's why you'll probably never be a criminal KrispyK... you have the actual foresight to plan ahead.

That means you probably already have a job and a future and stuff.
