If only there was this much opposition to the Patriot Act.

Where the hell was everybody when Cheney and Rummy were detaining, torturing, invading and lying to the American people?

I think this should have to be done for all filibusters, but your not supposed to filibuster for fun there is supposed to be a reason.

I mean. I'm a pretty staunch democrat. But the dude is using the Filibuster the exact way that we were ALL screaming for. He's doing it to bring attention to a wildly important constitutional issue that really needs to be dealt with.

I'm really ok with this. Now of course, he could enact some legislation to limit this particular power of the executive branch. Checks and balances and such. IF he's doing it for the end result of "The president is no longer allowed to kill americans on american soil with drones." Then bravo Rand Paul.

I love how people are getting on Rand Paul's case for trying to bring attention to the fact that the attorney general and prospective CIA director just said plainly, "we are ok with drone assasinations of U.S. citizens on U.S. soil."

I don't understand why anyone could have a problem with this.

The problem wasn't yesterday's antics, the problem was the 100000 times the Republicans have used phony filibusters previously. It was once required you stand there and talk. But now, you only have to declare it and walk out. Turning majority rule into rule of 1 objection, which is ridiculous.

Because its Republicans, and they've completely blown their credibility on using filibusters for everything in the previous 5 years. Literally hundreds of times over routine anything.

I agree yesterday is a big deal and under a normal government scenario, I would applaud Rand Paul's action.

But not after he's been a complete asswit for the last five years delaying everything Obama's tried to do just for the sake of obstructionism.

Gave up your right to be considered a credible opponent.

No, there was plenty of ass last night during the Fillibuster. Unfortunately, the Republicans frown on being attracted to those kind of relationships.

I believe the Holder letter only dealt with drones, though I appreciate the straw man. (42 fallacies FTW!)

My point is that even a broken clock can be correct twice a day. If it was Al Franken doing this exact thing, he'd be getting a ton of praise. Do you disagree? I just think that it genuinely is an issue that  outrages me and should outrage us all. That Holder letter is amazing.

I think Rand brought attention to the issue, and they should craft legislation to eliminate drone strikes against our own citizens. I'll leave the flame throwers to another president.

I do not see a condition where we would have a loaded drone in the air close enough to react faster than a standard police presence.  If you know at least try the normal channels.
