How bootstrappy!

dad gets welfare, overcomes burdens and goes on to make lots o' money. he gives that money to his son who goes on to fail at a presidential run because of his contempt for welfare recipients. man then goes on to work part time for his son, who got some of the money welfare gramps made.

I suspect Tagg would be a total prick to work for -- just wait until the first cries of "Yo, Mittens! Put a head on this caffeine-free herbal tea and shake that ass down to the copier and fetch those projections!"

I wonder how many job fairs, unemployment lines and job interviews Mitt's gone through searching for his next career? It's got to be tough for him and his family after losing the Presidential election. Geez, they probably lost their health coverage as well.

For one week a month, his son won't need to give him benefits..

Time to drive some more companies into the ground and outsource some more jobs to punish America, eh Mittens.

I thought he picked up a gig on the Board of Directors for Marriott or something.

Will he STFU and quit campaigning now?

2013-03-07 08:40:30 AM
Even though I don't like the guy, I can understand that running a long national campaign--win or lose--must be an incredibly draining experience. I can see how he might have felt a little disconnected for the past few months. He's a scrapper, though. Somehow, I think ol' Mitt will land on his servants' feet.

So, he is still "working" with Marriot? It looks like he is just adding his name to different companies and charging them a stipend to use it. Does he actually do anything at all?

A person with knowledge of the deal tells NBC that Romney is planning to work with Solamere for one week a month. He will be advising on matters of private equity, and is not planning to fundraise at all for the firm.

Could someone explain why a private equity firm would need someone to advise on fundraising? Maybe I'm just thinking of "fundraising" in the colloquial sense.

Sounds like you are; fundraising in the PE world is a common expression for going out and finding wealthy investors prepared to back your project.

I guess he's know where the gullible suckers are, but they may not have forgiven him for his presidential run.

Mitt Romney is a phenomenally talented and productive individual, and he brings enormous value into any venture that he involves himself with. I'm happy to see him get back to what he does best, which is generate tens of millions of dollars of profitable business and donate millions of dollars to charity. Haters gonna hate....

Yes, clearly Mitt Romney is focused on helping the poor, the sick, the uninsured, or the addicted. Doesn't this "charity" just scream compassion?

He certainly knows how to blow millions of dollars and lose elections....multiple times. Thanks Obama.

To be fair, Tagg went through binders full of Romneys before settling on his dad.

You just know the first person he called the day after losing the election was his accountant.  "Refile everything and me it all back."  I bet he would have done that if he won....

Simple; so he, his friends, and his family can milk more of their investors money all in the name of overhead.

He should have an impressive resume. It's rare to meet someone who was almost President. Then again, it's rarer to meet someone who was actually President.

I wonder whether he's already done that. Adjusting it up to 15% must have really galled him.

Clay Aiken is very talented.
There is nothing wrong with almost being as good a singer and performer as Clay.

I don't think he'd be anywhere without daddy's money. He wouldn't quite be a W. level of failure without his birth lottery winnings., though. I think the best he could hope for was to own a few restaurant chains where his workers hate him, if he hadn't been killed in Vietnam.

I'm sure he is. I was referring to music however.

So will he still qualify for food stamps if he only works one week a month?

If Mitt Romney was kidnapped by terrorists and slowly killed by having his limbs amputated and then being fed raw human sewage through a funnel, I can honestly say I would not feel the slightest bit bad about it.  People like him contribute absolutely nothing positive to human existence and are a festering chancre on the diseased anus of humanity.  Since we're being frank here.

Barack Obama is going to stay in the public sector, where he will demand 47% of the profits.
