The only thing ensuring the safety of "little cat" owners is their massive size, compared to the cat..

That's terrible. But they are super-predators and wild animals. Gotta respect what they are especially when you want to help or take care of them.

Wonder what happened. Hope she wasn't trying to give it a cuddle.

She probably thought they "bonded". And they don't know what provoked the attack? It's a farking lion you idiots!

Just saw Jack Hannah talk about this. He claims the woman was known to be "fearless" of these animals. Which I suppose is a good thing, but that alone is a potentially dangerous attitude, She also knew the rules which forbade her to enter the cage without at least two other employees and she did it anyway. What Jack also revealed was that she was there in the park with her boyfriend. They were unsupervised. Against known protocols she got the key to the enclosure and entered it alone, either in a stupid fit of bravado or on the dare or encouragement of her equally stupid boyfriend. Result? NEWS!!

"Here, hold my brain and watch this!"

No, the chicken wire will keep the bottles from hitting her during "Stand by your Man".

People think they can undo millions of years of evolution and natural instinct just by being friendly.

Those large cats didn't get to where they are in the food chain by being friendly, I am almost certain of that.

It looks like there's a good deal of "Bob" in that cat.  I am also guessing that the chicken wire is part of that cat's cage rather than some decor.

And it took 17 comments for Big Cat Rescue to get a mention on this thread, and it appeared as copypasta from somewhere else.

I guess that means that their cyber-warriors are asleep at the wheel this morning, as they generally are all over ever big cat related discussion like the proverbial stink on shiat.  Anyone in the wild cat care community will tell you that BCR is the über-troll of the exotic animal community. They take everything PeTA does, and do it better. (and I don't mean that in a good way)

Woah!
I used to work up in the mountains not far from where this place is. It's way up in the Sequoias near Kings Canyon National Park, and while it's about an hour and a half drive to the nearest big town, it's about 15 minutes from the summer camp where I used to work!

You have the intern do the paperwork, before feeding them to the lion, duh.  Being a good boss is all about efficiency.
