wingnut396: I would go again I guess, but I can take or leave cruising. The food was fine but just underspiced IMO. I can understand their need for that, but I've always been the type that would rather find a good hole in the wall where locals love to eat.
Macular Degenerate: They're no doubt avoiding making profits, but large companies have insurance against damages and losses of business revenue, so I doubt they're hurting too bad as a result of this.Cruises have never attracted me, and every article I read about norovirus and these kinds of problems makes me less inclined to go on one, even if it was free (OK, maybe ONLY if it was free).
tricycleracer: Rapmaster2000: the appeal for them was that everything was decided and taken care of. There are no decisions to make.Funny how the people I hear this exact same praise of cruises from tend to be of the "rugged individualist" breed.
CujoQuarrel: 12349876: Rapmaster2000: Pretty much. I was always one of those "I don't get cruises" people until a few people I know (that are pretty hard drivers in life) told me the appeal for them was that everything was decided and taken care of. There are no decisions to make.I can see the appeal, but I'll pass.I'd still rather pay more for a large on land resort with everything I need maybe even all inclusive before I'd do a cruise ship. And with the intertubes, it doesn't take much time to plan every iota of your trip before you go.I hear there are vacation packages in the DR that even supplies the girl(s)Or so I've been told.
PhotoKirk: I was on the Triumph. It was nowhere near as bad as the media reported. Pretty much just camping at sea, but that doesn't sell headlines.http://www.flickr.com/photos/82933936@N00/sets/72157632798182700/Here's my photos.

So, if you could, could you give a short synopsis of how it really was. Was there in fact rivers of poo in the hallways?BTW, I have just picked up a D7000. Love it! Great in low light and the noise level at high ISO is great (especially coming from a D50). Will be taking a cruise (RCL) in October.
PhotoKirk: There were no rivers of poo. We never listed more than 8 degrees (I have a level on my phone). Most folks listened when we were told not to use the toilets, the ones who didn't had to deal with overflowing toilets when we listed.
