I want to meet this woman, and give her a nice big printed and framed copy of the Florida tag, and say "Here's your sign."

The murder plot went awry after the childrens' grandmother found the knife under one of the girl's pillows in early February, according to Wallace. That's when the grandmother brought both girls to the sheriff's office, where they informed investigators that their mother told them to use the blade to kill their grandparents.

Yeah, I'm calling BS. There's only the sort ofplausibility that a journalist with a deadline and no mind would snap up.

GIS on "Leticia Silva" is pretty hot.  Can't figure out which one is our gal, though.

I'm having trouble believing that one can mail a knife out of a jail.  Waterboard those kids.

Silva lost custody of her children after she was arrested in Florida for possession of methamphetamines and sent to prison

...

Silva's friend, Mary Snell, told WFLA that Silva was determined to regain custody of her daughters.
"Her one goal in life was to get them back," Snell told WFLA.

At least her friend was smart enough to say "was".

But TFA says  she's 31.  I think the first one above is a LOT older.

She would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for those incompetent kids.

Rufus Lee King: Seriously, though, where did she get the knife? I assume she made it, somehow? Also, packages sent from the joint are not inspected before they go out?

Something's just not adding up, here.

Maybe mom told the kids, from jail, to kill grandparents.  Kids found their own knife at home.

Or  maybe 7 and 9 year-old girls can hatch a murder plot on their own in hope of getting mom back.  I'd be surprised, but I'd believe it.

I refuse to re-open the article, but from what I remember, she lost the kids 7 years ago when she went to jail for possession of meth.  It doesn't say she mailed the package from prison.  I don't think you get 7 yrs. for possession, unless it was . . . a lot.

I feel sad for you that you went through the effort to make a joke with the payoff being a hack comedian's hack effort to cash in on catch phrases like his other redneck buddies.

Silva allegedly instructed the kids to use the blade to murder their paternal grandparents...

...where they informed investigators that their mother told them to use the blade to kill their grandparents.

This is some crappy writing. Repeat a blatantly obvious statement twice. What were they expected to use, the handle?

"Take this knife. Kill them with the handle."
