Is there anything that prick wants to permit us to do aside from reading news from his company to line his pockets? God Almighty, it'll soon be sent down from on high that breathing is bad and we need to minimize it.

Then again, it is New York. Minimizing breathing would go a long way to increasing longevity in that cesspool. Nevertheless, Bloomberg is a know-it-all toolbag who needs to sit down, shut the fark up, count his money, and stay the hell out of everybody's business.

Yeah?  Then maybe he should knock off his whole "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" campaign and stop trying to change gun laws in other states.

rmdpgh: I'm not saying reduce the capacity of MP3 players

Why not? He reduced soda and magazine capacity. Why not MP3 players? In the best interest of New Yorkers Bloomburg, MP3 Players should be limited to 256mb of music. Thats enough for about 40 songs. Nobody needs to listen to more than 40 songs at a time, anyway. But if you want more than 40 songs, you can just purchase another MP3 player.

Mayor Bloomberg is a filthy rich c*nt who wants to distract you from his cronies stealing the paint off the wall by feeding you a sense of urgency about utter bullsh*t.

Mayor Bloomberg wants to sh*t where you eat.

Mayor Bloomberg wants to limit your digression and tastes to that which he sees as good.

Mayor Bloomberg wants to fart on your sofa with his feet on your coffee table while you fetch him beers as he wags his finger at you every time you scratch your ass.

Awareness campaigns are light years away from outright bans and ordinances. I like politicians who invest money in people's health. I hate politicians who force you to conform to an arbitrary lifestyle of be fined or charged.

Because he funds campaigns in other states and he lobbies for things outside of New York City. His actions directly affected at least one election in California, and as head, founder, and funder of Mayors Against Illegal Guns (who act to make guns illegal so that they can argue against them) he pushes an agenda far beyond the five boroughs.

That's why anyone should give a shiat. If he's your mayor, tell him to stick to New York City and leave the rest of us the fark alone.

that's smart because the boomers are losing their hearing.
Which is actually great for me. It means insurance cares about hearing aids now. Batteries are easier to find, people gawk at aids less. It's like the only positive thing the Boomers have ever done.

\How sad that the Boomers greatest contribution is losing their hearing.

this is something i've never understood: why is it that eyeglasses to help you see can be fashionable? walking canes can be fashionable? hell, i've even seen people in their wheelchairs or rascals all blinged out

but hearing aids ?  oh no. be ashamed and try to hide it by jamming it halfway to your brain or make it 'old people beige'  and hope it blends in with skin tone.

why not make them fashionable?  for christsakes people wear gold & diamonds on their teeth!

as to your scorn for the Boomer generation - did your dad not love you enough or something?

/what!?!? oh, yes.... that is indeed my lawn. why do you ask?

The New York Post reports the mayor is launching a new public health campaign to raise awareness of a well-known, but widely ignored fact that loud music can cause permanent hearing damage.

Seems to me like the awareness is already there, but people just don't care.

Same thing for smoking and being overweight and driving too fast and taking drugs and a thousand other things.  People already know, they are already aware, they just don't care.

New Yorkers are afraid of everything though. They will gladly obey Father Bloomberg's wishes.

That is pretty good....but it's also a sad state of affairs when 50% of people in a city want their mayor to be their nanny.

This actually illustrates what the real intent is...

"The program, which will cost roughly $250,000 and be paid for by a grant from the Fund for Public Health,"

If he really wanted to do something about it, he would just pass a law to control it like he did with drinks.  He didn't "Engage in a ad campaign against drinks."  He passed a law.  What the above shows is that this is intended to create a job for somebody and way to spend money on it.  Nothing else.  Government must always always always get bigger.  It never should be allowed to get smaller because the world would end if it did.  It is a microcosm of how the the powerticians in DC think as well.  OMG a 2% cut which is really a reduction in the increase means zombie Apocalypse.

Just like the three before it? My son doesn't listen to music anywhere near as loud as I used to (and sometimes still do). Hell, the line "if it's too loud, you're too old" was old when it showed up in Airheads almost 20 years ago. The Who was the loudest band in history 40 years ago.
