So is this guy's career dead yet? I'm trying to figure out how to put up with him enough to go see "This Is The End," which I was sold on pretty much by Danny McBride being hilarious in the trailer.

Vin Diesel and Robin Williams. They've both admitted they're D&D players too.

I'm constantly amazed at how far the kids from Freaks & Geeks went.  Practically every one of them progressed on to major roles in movies, television, and stage.  Whoever was responsible for casting on that show must have had a real eye for genius.  They were all (even the ones who didn't have super-stellar careers) amazing actors and actresses.

Considering the favorites note I have for you relates to your Tolkien knowledge, I think I buy that you could (and I remember being in awe when I made the note).  Now you just need to find a way to challenge him.

It's Vin Diesel, yes. As I recall, one of his tattoos in some crappy movie was the name of his D&D character. He did the forward to the 30 Years of D&D book.

I thought I caught a nerd error the other night when he was talking about Obama's "Jedi mind meld" thing. He said that was like mistaking Good Kirk for Evil Kirk from "Mirror Mirror" season 2, episode 4 and showed this pic.

i47.tinypic.com

I said "That's not from 'Mirror Mirror'!" and immediately paused it to go Google. The pic is actually from "The Enemy Within" season 1, episode 5. I did my most evil Melllvar laugh and went made some comments here and there.

Then I went back to the TV and pressed play. Two sentences later he said "I know that's not from 'Mirror Mirror'. No letters".

DOH!

I suspect it was a joke, not a troll. Therefore, it ended up being an unwittingly successful troll since you mistakenly called it out as such.

My brother used to play rpgs with Wheaton a lifetime ago, ususally Call of Cthluhu or D&D.  For years the guys in the group would talk about playing a round of Fasa's Star Trek rpg and pushing Wesley Crusher's character sheet in front of Wil when he arrived to see what he would do but they could never get up the courage.

Huh, doesn't do that for me. Google customizes its autocomplete suggestions based on the frequency of  previous searches. If you're not logged into a Google Plus account, I don't know if they do it based on IP address, web browser, or geographical area.

In other words, it sounds like you have have a foot fetish. ;)
