Has it helped alleviate the tyranny here in the United States with that goddam Obama?

No.

Why should it do any more over there?

If the rest of my life consists of hearing about a new meme sweeping the Internet every few months, with people all over the world reproducing it and posting their videos online, I'm going to go ahead and move to a cave now.

Those brown people sure have rhythm.

Why? Why is that song so popular? And the dance? i've never seen such free-form convulsing since watching The Plague, only they weren't pretending to dance, only to act.

/What ever happened to a dance having actual technique?

Neither did I until I looked it up on Wikipedia.

It's one of those sorts of things that once 4000 copycats a day upload their own versions, it starts to lose the humor.  But, whatever, I'm not here to judge.  If people think it's funny, good for them...

It is truly remarkable how quickly that meme took off.

In America, "Harlem Shake" may be the top pop single.

It is?  Dog help us all.

Of course dance crazes inspire revolutions. The Macarena is widely credited for bringing about the Gingrich Revolution of '94.

Stupid little things can often set you off.

Things like getting arrested or having a govt inqurey over a stupid video highlights some of the BS these people have to deal with.  Peopel seeing these dumbass dances in other countries then realizing that it isn't allowed in their own is a atupid, but powerful symbol of how pants ont he head stupd their leaders are.

Actually, I'm surprised this is still going on.  I thought it peaked about 3 weeks ago but I just saw a story on Nightline about it and according to YouTube, the Harlem Shake is still one of their top searches.

Every time someone does a "Harlem Shake" video, a bunch of kids get suspended.

That's all I know about it.

I enjoyed the "how to Harlem Shake" pic from a few years ago... went something like:
1. Sway to and fro a bit until the bass drops
2. Have a seizure

Oh, that was Dubstep? Well, whatever, it's good to see the kids these days entertain themselves with rediscovering old memes.

They're like archeologists of the internet.

I don't understand the disgust for this particular meme. There is some good in it. For example: The Harlem Shake song climbed up the Billboard chart as a result of the views of fan made videos on YouTube. I like the idea that a song can become popular by viral means rather than just because it's a top 20 song by a no talent autotuned ass clown that is repeated on the radio.

There is a lot to be bother with in pop culture, but this one doesn't register for me.

I'm sure if Blizzard ever gets around to introducing another new race to World of Warcraft, then the Harlem Shake will be its racial dance.

Kinda hoping when they re-do all the race's models and have updated skeletal system in them, that the Dance Studio they promised way back when will be released...

I want to do the Horse Dance on my toon...

Harlem Shake can't be all bad. It led me to Filthy Frank, who is stupid but somehow entrancing at the same time. I think Filthy Frank videos should be the new Rick Roll.
