I can't imagine any sensible person making that claim. On the other hand, I agree with those who say that a roaring stock market is not necessarily a harbinger of a prosperous economy. It's only one piece of the elephant.

I've been dollar cost averaging into broad based mutual funds for 20 years now.

I wouldn't say that I'm rich, but the markets have been helping me just fine.

This is funny because I 'bought' yesterday. Then again I buy about every two weeks with the old 401k so that was normal. I expect we'll have a few crashes at least before I'm able to retire and since I don't know when they are coming I suspect I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.

Does 31 count as young? That's how old I am...our retirement fund is rated in the top four pension plans in the country. So, hurrrrr duuuuuur?

So you're gloating about theoretical money that you can't touch for another 30 years without penalty? That's fine. It's great to know a teacher responsible for guiding the next generation is gloating and calling people idiots.

Haha, you stupid f*ck....

The money paid out in our pension are paid for by the young people working still.   As long as there are teachers working, then people that are retiring will still get paid.

Again, you stupid f*ck....go get some help.

If its not in your possession, you dont own it. Investing is still gambling and no one is entitled to gains. Anyone who trusts the longevity of a financial system backed by fiat gets what they deserve.

So, out of curiosity, what's your brilliant strategy to grow and/or maintain whatever wealth you have?

If it were based on solid gold, it would still be gambling. It used to be, and that didn't stop people from losing fortunes in the stock market.
