Well, insults are the NYC way.  And people kill over being "disrespected"  so I imagine fear of being disrespected might make them think twice about giving up the booty.

Just because you've been banging this person for 5 months and you're totally in love right now doesn't mean the relationship will last. I guess advising you to think with something other then your genitals amounts to shame and insults to subby.

We shouldn't be insulting these girls. We should be boosting their self-esteem. Nothing's been shown to work better than a high self esteem.

The real shame is a 16 (or younger) year old mother.

How about, you know, PUNISHING the behavior, instead of, you know, REWARDING the behavior by giving away a bunch of freebies to any loser who can queef out a crotch cancer.

Oh, I remember now...psychology is a charade.

Science, it just works, biatches.

I think these ad fill a need.  Yes, your are correct in that boosting self-esteem works but there are some stupid girls who can't be reasoned with.  These ads are for them.

Maybe include information for contraceptives in these ads.  Where to get them, and saying they don't need a Rx.  Were to get free ones.  Etc...

Nothing is going to work on a 17 year old welfare witch who knows that when she pops out a kid she gets her own income and apartment and if if baby daddy #1 doesn't want to stick around she can have her pick for baby daddy #2 with her teenager tang. Capitalism works and people will end up doing whatever you pay them to do.

Or, you know, PREVENT pregnancy by giving teens actual facts about and access to birth control.

Emotions like guilt and shame exist in the human psyche to act as a brake against short-term self-gratifying behavior that is damaging in the long term and/or has high social costs.

Like, telling them they are a great lay, and thanks for the fun? That kind of self esteem? The poor dears  can't keep the panties on, and you suggest telling them they are wonderful for it.

It's not guilt or shame, it's facts.
It's an effort to abbate generational poverty in a culture where many (mostly male) people believe their chief responsibility in life, is to reproduce.

Those arent insults. Why not try not sugarcoating it and get to the real insults? The ones kids hear from other kids.

It's not about KNOWING about it, it is about recognizing and understanding that using it is responsible and grown-up. A teen going into the drug store is often mortified about buying rubbers because they think it is embarrassing. If they were taught that it was expected, respected, and responsible, they might not feel that way and be more inclined to do so.

If you could highlight the words whose definitions you don't know it would be easier to answer your question.

Richmond tried a similar campaign a few years ago.  It went something like "sex won't make him yours, and a baby won't make him stay."  To be fair another campaign was aimed at men to warn them against banging teenage girls.  I don't think they worked too well, I haven't seen any ads lately.

A different tactic might be to have pictures of kids with captions like "I'll only put it in for a second," "I'll pull out," "I don't like condoms," that sort of thing.  It's falling for idiocy like that in order to keep that All Important ManTM and not ignorance of birth control that really drives the problem.

If they aren't mortified dropping their shorts for a quicky, they're looking for welfare. Sluts, and easy money.

2013-03-06 07:04:23 AM
Hey, slut. Yeah you. I'm talking to you. You like welfare? You like being poor? Sluts like you are going to be poor. Your mama is poor. Wanna know why? Because she was a slut. She had you when she was about your age. She was really pretty too, like you. Her boyfriend (your daddy) told her she was really pretty. She's a dumb slut and she loved the attention. Her daddy was never around to tell her how pretty and precious she was. Kind of like your daddy. He just left after your mama got pregnant with you. So here you are. Young and pretty. You like welfare? Because that's where you're going to end up. Just like your mama. And your baby's daddy? He'll be long gone.

You don't have to be a slut. Tell your boyfriend to wait. If he won't, then he doesn't really love you.

If you're going to do shaming, don't hold back. Make sure it's personal and resonates with something deep inside them. Then give them a way out. And if they don't take the way out, then make sure their peers know exactly how to torment them.

Oh please. Whatever they get in welfare can't compare to the cost of raising a kid. It's being a stupid slutty teen, not a business venture.

If the solution to teen pregnancy were as simple as saying 'don't have sex' then abstinence only sex education wouldn't be the abject failure that it is.

The #1 cause of death in women between the ages of 18 and 54 in New York City is AIDS so if they won't use birth control to save their own lives then everything else pales by comparison. They need ads that say, "biatch, you gonna die!"

Crime statistics across Europe back through the 14'th century, up to today show that shame-based punishments are not an effective deterrent, and has little impact on the recidivism rates.  For that matter, neither does jail time - that is, we can't reform people in jail or by shaming.

Education, on the other hand ...

I never said there was a solution to teen pregnancy. I said that there's no need to include information on how not to become pregnant because everyone knows how not to become pregnant. They just don't care.
