Sounds a bit too country for me.
I'll listen a bit more when I get home, maybe I'll change my mind.
Good luck.

You should just sell it for $5 and eliminate all the gimmicky shiat.

So, let me get this straight:

If I spend $10 and jump through a bunch of hoops, I might get the equivalent of $5 worth of non-transferable services, except that I pay for TF yearly, so my equivalent cost is less than $5/month.

Does that about explain it?

Subby, I don't know you, but I have nothing against you, so here's a piece of advice:

You need a hit song. That's it. Every band that you've ever heard mentioned in important media, etc. had at least one hit song. Everything else they did might be crap, but they had ONE SONG. Focus on making that one original song.

Listen to an oldies station. Almost every band you hear will only have one of their songs played. There's a really good reason for that. Oh, and then you have the Beatles, for example. Their only good song was Twist and Shout, but apparently there are some people with no taste who think they had plenty of good songs.

In short: sell out. Sell out early and often. You might think you're above it, but let's face it, you're pimping your record on Fark.

/best of luck

An awful lot of 80s ish flangy guitar there.  I'll give it a listen.

Strummy guitar and whiny, slightly effeminate, male vocals. I'll pass.

Negative vibes like this are bad for artists, man. They damage the ectonodes.

Sorry Subby, your music and your approach to getting us to listen to it are just too commercial.  You'd be a big hit on radio, if there was still such a thing, but you aren't pitching to ad men here, you are pitching directly to the consumer.  We hate being treated like idiots, and we will shun you for doing it.

Plus, most of us avoid TF like the plague, so acting as if that is some sort of incentive is really deluding yourself.

Thanks for the tips, everyone!  The good ones, I mean.  The rest of you punks?  Pfeh.

Seriously, though, I'll take the advice and critiques and adjust as needed for the next one.

But if you listened and like it, tell some of your jerky friends about it.

I just re-read all your dumb ass comments.  The day has started off pretty shiatilly, so thanks for bringing some chuckles.

Hey, does anyone know if Drew would frown upon putting a Fark link or badge (if one exists) on my site?  Just curious.

Thanks again.

It is always good form to ask first, but I doubt he would have a problem with it.  Use Farkback.

/Are you sure you want to use a Fark badge and not a TotalFark badge?  You sound like the TF type. ;)

Ha.  Someone sponsored me but I haven't used it to its fullest capacity.  Thanks for the tip!

The important thing is including a Fark badge is to also include a Something Awful badge, and place it in a more prominent location than the Fark badge. Drew loves that sh*t.

best of luck with sales. while you're job searching you might make some extra cash doing gigs even if it's lunch time for tips. money is money. decent business cards and a photo album of past gigs helps get dates too. you could also make money giving lessons, just an idea.
